98 Degrees ~~And Rising's~~ main man Nick Lachey visited the Today Show this morning. He and his wife Vanessa planned to talk about their new Netflix series Love Is Blind, but it appears Hoda Kotb wasn't having it. The talk show host quickly changed the subject to Lachey's ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, whose new memoir Open Book is due out tomorrow.

We know both Nick and Jessica have thriving careers, but has anyone noticed how much press they've each gotten over the past few weeks?

(Obviously we're partially responsible for that, but we're not apologizing!)

During her book's ongoing promotional tour, Simpson said that she once received a very nice baby gift from Nick and Vanessa.

"I interviewed Jessica Simpson for her book, Open Book, and she talked about how she has her life with her husband and her children, and she was really, really happy for y'all," Kotb said.

She then mentioned Jessica told her about "[The Lacheys sending her] something beautiful" after the birth of her children.

In a rather awkward turn of events, though, Nick's wife had to deny the rumor on live television.

"I feel bad, I'm sorry," Vanessa said.

"You said somebody sent her...it wasn't us, but thank you, whoever sent it."

Looks like someone put Nick and Vanessa's names on a package, but the couple has no idea 1) what was in it...OR that it was even sent in the first place!

"I don't...I don't know her address," Vanessa continued, "but thank you, whoever sent it from us."

Simpson's book opens up about some deeply personal issues related to childhood sexual abuse and other pressures that led to her to abuse alcohol and drugs. She has made many pages of the book available ahead of its release, most of which have to do with her previous marriage to Nick.

She says their "anxieties about [their] careers just seemed to feed off each other," and this was one of the factors that led to their very public split in 2006.

"We had been together almost seven years when I told Nick, 'I think I want a divorce," Simpson writes. "I later heard that he told the press he was blindsided." Jessica says she "didn't know how" her divorce request came as a surprise.

"At that point, we were not even speaking to each other. Maybe he was just shocked that I stood up for myself. I don't think he ever thought I would take the leap."

Lachey has admitted to not reading ex-wife Jessica's book (did he get an advanced copy?), and he probably has no intentions of doing so.

"But, certainly happy for her and her life," Nick said in a recent interview. "I know she is happy for us. There's definitely a mutual respect there, obviously it was a long time ago and we've all moved on."

Jessica Simpson's 'Open Book' releases everywhere tomorrow, February 4th.

Nick & Vanessa Lachey's 'Love is Blind' hits Netflix on February 13th. It will release four more episodes on February 20th, with its finale slated for February 27th.
