Aside from her record-breaking, Grammy award-winning music, Billie Eilish also happens to be well-known for her outspoken attitude and brash honesty. The 18-year-old artist tells it like she sees it and is not afraid to clash with fans in the process.

Eilish has previously spoken up against grabby fans groping her at meet and greets. She recently warned YouTubers impersonating her in public to stop, stating it was unsafe for them and made her look bad to her fans. Now she's addressing the controversy over Drake.

Text Exchanges

In an interview in November of last year, Eilish named Drake as the nicest person she has ever had a conversation with. The Bad Guy singer admitted she had never actually met Drake in person, but that he has been nothing but nice to her when they text. Eilish was 17 years old, at the time of this interview.

Eilish praised Drake, saying he did not need to be such a nice person because of the amount of success he has attained. "He's at a level of his life where he doesn't need to be nice, but he is," she said.

Eilish's admission that she and Drake had been texting while she was underage set off immediate alarm bells for many fans. People immediately criticized Drake's actions and claimed there was a worrying pattern being shown.

In 2018, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown said she met Drake in Australia and that he had texted her after that. Brown also said Drake was very nice to her saying she would tell him she missed him and he would respond, "I miss you more."

Just A Fan

Eilish apparently refuses to entertain the idea that Drake could be considered creepy for texting more than one underage girl. The "Ocean Eyes" singer opened up about the controversy in an interview with Vogue, flatly denying anything weird going on with Drake.

In the interview, Eilish referred to Drake as a "fan" of hers and accused those critical of his texting habits as being the same who would, "go vote for Trump?" The singer called the internet a "mess" and accused people of being too "sensitive."

Accusations Of Grooming

Many of those concerned with Drake's behavior have accused the singer of "grooming" underage girls -- a tactic employed by predators to make a younger person comfortable with them to make abuse seem natural or to secure a relationship when they are of legal age. Relationships of this second type still often see a power imbalance.

Drake has previously been caught on camera kissing and groping a 17-year-old girl after pulling her up to dance on stage with him. In the video, Drake jokes about not wanting to go to jail after learning the girl's age, but continues to kiss her and make comments about her chest.
