Emily Simpson and Vicki Gunvalson were involved in a heated Twitter dispute over the weekend after Gunvalson suddenly responded to a tweet shared by the mother of three months ago in regard to the happenings of the 14th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
In Simpson’s post, Gunvalson suggested that the “Tres Amigas,” which consists of Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, and Shannon Beador, attempted to convince her to turn her back on co-star Kelly Dodd and help them ice her out from the rest of the cast.
“Your agenda was to turn everyone on the cast against Kelly and ice her out so she would be fired,” Simpson alleged in a tweet initially shared with her online audience in December of last year.
While Simpson wasn’t initially close to Dodd when she first joined The Real Housewives of Orange County cast for season 13, the two of them grew extremely close to one another during season 14 and have continued on with their friendship off-camera in the months since filming wrapped.
While Gunvalson didn’t respond to Simpson’s tweet when it was first shared, she offered a response to Simpson over the weekend and quickly prompted a social media war with her.
“Liar!!! I never once wanted anyone to turn against Kelly. My issue with her was between her and I. Nice try girl. You and I never spoke about Kelly and in fact we never spoke!!!” Gunvalson clarified on February 1.
In response, Simpson took aim at Gunvalson’s grammar, telling her she should have said “between her and me” and noting that she must not have been taught that in “insurance school.”
After Simpson took aim at Gunvalson’s education, Gunvalson fired back in a since-deleted tweet, which read, “Your an idiot.”
In response, Simpson reminded Gunvalson, “You’re fired.”
As fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County well know, Gunvalson left the cast in January after being demoted from her full-time role last year and making it clear that she was not willing to return for season 15 if she was not upgraded to a “housewife,” as she’d been for the first 13 seasons of the series.
Following her exit announcement on Instagram, Gunvalson shocked fans when she unfollowed Real Housewives executive Andy Cohen and proceeded to slam him for failing to have her back during the three-part Real Housewives of Orange County reunion last year.
Despite Gunvalson’s words, Cohen himself seemed to have no issue with Gunvalson at all and actually shared a sweet post after learning of her exit from the cast on his Instagram page.
In Cohen’s post, he shared several throwback photos of the former reality star.
Although Bravo has not yet made any official casting announcements in regard to who will and won’t be appearing on the upcoming 15th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Us Weekly told readers last week that both Simpson and Dodd were asked to return for the new episodes, as were Gina Kirschenheiter and Braunwyn Windham-Burke.
As for potential new wives, there will likely be at least one new cast member but that information has also been left unconfirmed by the network.
