The silence has been broken, Nick Lachey comments about his feelings on ex-wife Jessica Simpson‘s upcoming memoir Open Book. Hitting the shelves on Tuesday, February 4th, this tell-all has been anticipated by fans for a long time, many years.
Fans are looking forward to the exclusive deets on their marriage split, back in 2005. The memoir is supposed to reveal sexual interactions the two had after their divorce was finalized, back in 2006. In an interview with Us Weekly, Lachey responds to thoughts on Simpson’s book.
“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”

The former hot rod member of 98 Degrees was asked if he’s read any part of this soon released book, and he says, “Well, no, I have not read a single word,”.
He goes on to say, “Both of us have not read the book, and no, she did not reach out before it was published.”, in reference to his wife of eight years, Vanessa Lachey.
So he hasn’t read it, but what does Simpson have to say about this new memoir?
In communication with People, Simpson weighs in on the contents of Open Book. She tells People, “He was my first love,”
She continues, “Nick loved the fact I was so strong in my faith and that I had this wide-eyed innocent approach to life. When he proposed in 2002, I said yes.”
Remembering their past, she says, “I respect Nick very much. I was really young and my success hadn’t really begun. He knew me as this young innocent 18-year-old that had never been introduced to the world in so many ways.”

I went straight from my father to him. Nick’s very smart. He was eight years older than me, but he was also young.”
“We meant a lot to each other and we always will,” she comments, referring to Lachey,, who’s now married for eight years. “I want to be very respectful because I married him for a reason and we were together for seven years for a reason. He has a family now and I would never say anything to disrespect that.”
Open Book book aims to express some very complicated issues humans encounter on a daily basis; her courage to speak up, admiring. Topics go as far as sex to addiction. She tells People,
“I was killing myself with all the drinking and pills,”
“Giving up the alcohol was easy. I was mad at that bottle. At how it allowed me to stay complacent and numb.”, says the sober since 2017 Newlyweds star.
And touching on her past a little deeper, comments, “With work, I allowed myself to feel the traumas I’d been through,”.
