Simone Biles got candid about her fears and worries following her drop out from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics earlier this year.

During a sit-down with Today’s Hoda Kotb, the renowned athlete spoke about the aftermath of suffering the “twisties” at the competition.

Biles, who is currently headlining the Gold Over America Tour, admitted that getting back into her gymnastics routine has proved even more difficult.

She explained that due to the “twisties” suffered at Tokyo 2020, she would only stick to her signature exercises on the floor and not do any mid-air twists.

According to her, some mental issues caused the “twisties” during the competition, and they have continued to linger even way after the Olympics making her “still scared to do gymnastics.”

Biles confessed that it was “really crazy” for her to no longer do something she had done forever because of what she endured.

Nevertheless, Biles has no regrets about her mental health struggle as she believes it happened for a reason.

Now, she is determined to help others suffering from mental health struggles through her partnership with the mental health and telemedicine app, Cerebral.

Biles has described her decision to step away from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as one of her proudest moments as she put herself first.
