While Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s relationship continues to strengthen by the day, soon after announcing their engagement last year, the couple hasn’t shared much on matters concerning their wedding plans.
Fans were quick to wonder why the couple made an engagement announcement on social media yet still haven’t found the time to tie the knot. But there seemed to have been a reasonable explanation as to what was causing the wait.
In March 2019, J.Lo revealed her engagement after having just signed a deal to produce and star in the comedy-crime motion picture, “Hustlers,” while also announcing that she’d be returning to the stage, in support of her It’s My Party concert tour.
Lopez had also made a triumphant return to music with a number of hits, including “Medicine” featuring French Montana, and “Baila Conmigo.” So, it went without saying that the year already seemed pretty occupied for the mother-of-two.
In one of the few moments that Alex has opened up about his wedding with Lopez, the former baseball player shared that Jennifer is a perfectionist who would need little to no help from him when it came to the preparation and planning stages.
“When you think about wedding plans and Jennifer is your partner, all you do is…you do a lot of nodding,” he told Stahan, Sara, and Keke in September.
“I don’t know where the location is, I don’t know what I’m wearing, I don’t know when it is. I’ll just show up.”
He further hinted that the wedding wouldn’t take place anywhere local, insisting that it would be a “long flight” before the pair were to reach their destination ahead of their big day.
And when Jennifer was previously asked about her plans to walk down the aisle, the “Louboutins” songstress made it known that her schedule was making it hard to find time to plan for a wedding.
“I have a movie I’m shooting in October and the movie has an album that goes with it, so I’m just a little bit busy right now, and until October, he has the World Series in baseball,” she told the Evening Standard.
“We’re going to have to pick a day, pick a time and block it out, but we’re definitely talking about it.”
Following her performance at the Super Bowl, alongside Shakira, Jennifer will be gearing up for an appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 Vision tour in Los Angeles on February 29.
She will then be readying up the release of her next motion picture, “Marry Me,” starring Owen Wilson and Sarah Silverman. And from what the award-winning superstar has shared so far, there’s no mention of any new music just yet.
Perhaps that will open up the chance for Jennifer to finally marry Alex Rodriguez.
