Come on Barbie, let’s go party!
Ryan Gosling is getting ready to party Barbie style as he has just signed onto play the role of ‘Ken’ in upcoming live-action “Barbie” movie.
Gosling will star alongside Margot Robbie who will play the iconic plastic doll known for her big blonde hair, tiny waist and perfect face.
Deadline exclusively revealed the “Crazy Stupid Love” actor is in final negotiations to play the iconic Mattel character in Warner Bros’ movie centered on the classic doll line.
Greta Gerwig is directing the movie about the plastic doll that has been around since 1959.
The first-ever Barbie went on display at the American Toy Fair in New York City on March 9, 1959.
Barbie & Ken Forever
Per Deadline, Gosling initially passed on the role due to his busy schedule, but insiders add that as pre-production dragged out and the studio remained persistent with him being their only choice, an opening in his schedule appeared, allowing him to sign on.
If the actor signs on, the movie could finally get green-lit with hopes of shooting at the beginning of 2022.
Details about the flick are unknown at this time, but since it’s about Barbie you can bet it will include how fantastic it is to be wrapped in plastic!
Gosling recently wrapped production on the Netflix action pic “The Gray Man,” in which he stars opposite Chris Evans.
