A United States Representative is in scolding hot water after making fun of Alec Baldwin’s tragic set accident.
As you may know, on Thursday, October 21, there was a shocking accident that happened on the set of “Rust,” which is currently filming in New Mexico.
The veteran actor was handling a prop gun that fired and fatally hit the director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, and injured director Joel Souza.
At this point in time, the entire situation is an unfortunate and freak accident.
Alec's Tragic Accident!
According to the police investigation, the Sheriff’s department has confirmed Baldwin was the one who pulled the trigger which struck the director of photography Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza. At the time, it is believed that somehow a “live round” or “bullet” was placed inside of a prop gun which was to be fired as part of a scene. Again, this is very common in the tv/movie world, and firearms normally have blanks or nothing inside of them.
Alec has issued a response to the shocking situation, which The Blast covered in depth.
While many people have sent their condolences to Halyna, Joel and Alec, there’s one person who has decided to laugh at the entire tragedy.
US Representative (R-CO) Lauren Boebert took to Twitter on Friday, October 22, with the following “joke.”
She thinks it's funny
She reposted a tweet from the actor that dates back to 2014. The tweet reads, “I’m going to make bright, banana yellow t-shirts that read, “My hands are up. Please don’t shoot me.” Who wants one?”
In the caption of her tweet she wrote, “@AlecBaldwin are these still available? Asking for a movie producer…”

Many people were INFURIATED and very disturbed by the sick joke Boebert made and shared their thoughts in the reply section.
One person replied, “I don’t get the joke. There was a terrible accident where a woman was killed, due to the negligence or incompetence of someone on set. Baldwin didn’t shoot anyone on purpose.”
Another wrote, “So you spent the day scrolling his posts to find a way to be cruel? Says a lot about you.”
“This is funny to you? Seek help,” someone responded while another pointed out the fact that she is in a political position of power replying, “I start to think you have not read the job description you are working on.”
Mind you this tweet came from the same person whose Twitter bio reads, “Lauren Boebert for Congress Account: Congresswoman for CO-03. Owner of Shooters Grill. I’m the mom who told Beto HELL NO you’re not taking our guns!”
This isn’t the only thing she’s been under fire for THIS WEEK.
Earlier this week she was slammed for mocking Rachel Levine, the first transgender four-star officer in the nation's history.
Boebert tweeted, “Welcome to woke America” alongside a photo of Levine. Representative Don (D-VA.) Beyer called her a “hateful bigot.”
