Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have seemingly kept quite busy since they decided to take a step back as senior members of the Royal Family. The couple had to plead their case to the Royals to gain their freedom. They have been searching for — and may have already found — a gorgeous new home in Canada.
And, of course, the two have been attending events and have kept up their charitable efforts despite no longer working for the palace in any major capacity.
Duchess Meghan has dived into several charitable efforts since she and her husband began their move from the United Kingdom to Canada. Social media posts were recently shared showing Meghan’s recent trip to an organization meant to empower young girls.
The former Suits actor is also attached to provide voiceover work for Disney in a currently untitled project. Any salary that would be generated for Meghan by this work will be donated to an anti-poaching charity for the protection of elephants.
Prince Harry has continued to make charitable efforts, as well. The Duke of Sussex attended a dinner for his Sentable charity in London on January 19. The organization was founded by Harry and is intended to honor his late mother, Princess Diana, by aiding people who have been affected by AIDS and HIV.
Harry addressed he and his wife’s exit at the time, stating that he felt no other choice but to protect his family from the powerful force that is the British press.
Sources are now claiming that Duchess Meghan was supposed to attend the Sentable dinner with her husband but did not show up. The reports say this would have been her first charity appearance after the exit was announced.
According to anonymous sources, the event required an NDA to be signed, which is how they claim to know that Meghan was originally slated to be in attendance. A source said they were led to believe that Meghan was going to take part in Harry’s speech.
Reports also indicated that Duchess Meghan was to be on a conference call with Prince Harry and the Royal Family to lay out the Sussexes’ next steps. It is said she did not attend, but that she and her husband had decided it would be unnecessary.
While the Duke of Sussex attended the Sentable dinner and sorted out logistics with the palace, the Duchess was in Canada caring for the couple’s infant son. Harry has since taken a commercial flight back to be with his family.
