Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd have not yet publicly confirmed whether or not they will be included in the upcoming 15th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County but according to a new report, they have both been asked back.
Just days after longtime stars Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge announced they would not be returning to the show after starring on the hit Bravo series for over a decade each, Hollywood Life claims Beador and Dodd will soon begin filming.
“Kelly and Shannon have been asked to return to the show,” a source confirmed to Hollywood Life.
As fans of the show well know, Beador and Dodd didn’t end season 14 in the best place with one another, especially after Dodd threatened to get involved in Jim Bellino’s $1 million defamation lawsuit against her and Judge.
During the finale episode of the season, Beador opened up about how costly the lawsuit had been for her, even after she was reportedly dropped from the case.
While Dodd will have an easy return for the new episodes due to the fact that she has remained close to a number of her co-stars, including Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Emily Simpson, season 15 may not be a walk in the park for Beador, whose two closest friends on the show, Gunvalson and Judge, won’t be involved.
Beador is “now going to have a chance to move past her issues with Kelly” in the upcoming season, the Hollywood Life source shared.
Last Friday evening, Gunvalson took to her Instagram page to confirm that she was leaving the series after 14 seasons.
Prior to her exit, Gunvalson, who was demoted to a part-time role ahead of season 14, made it clear that when it came to a potential role on the series’ 15th season, she was not going to return in anything less than a full-time, or “housewife,” position.
During the reunion special last year, Gunvalson butted heads with Andy Cohen and lashed out at the racy behavior of Windham-Burke.
One day after Gunvalson’s exit from the show, her longtime friend and co-star, Judge, announced that she too was leaving the show.
On Instagram Live days later, Judge participated in a live chat with Cohen, during which she confirmed that she had been offered a demoted role on the series, which she was not willing to take.
Judge admitted that she was quite upset after learning that she had not been included in the full-time lineup for season 15 but added that she’ll be okay.
Following filming on the 14th season of The Real Housewives of Orange County last year, Dodd began dating Fox News correspondent Rick Leventhal and just three months into their whirlwind romance, he proposed.
Since then, Dodd and Leventhal have continued to enjoy one another’s company as they travel the globe together.
Most recently, the couple was spotted celebrating Leventhal’s 60th birthday in Miami with several friends, including Dodd’s co-star, Windham-Burke, and the mother of seven’s husband, Sean Burke.
Dodd and Leventhal are planning to get married this October.
