Jessica Simpson announced that her memoir is coming out Tuesday February 4th, 2020. However, since then she’s been dropping juicy tidbits on some of the relationships that she covers in her book. She has opened up about her divorce with Nick Lachey, dished on her fling with John Mayer and has now revealed that she and Justin Timberlake shared a quick peck quickly after her divorce. According to [PopCulture,] (https://popculture.com/celebrity/2020/01/30/jessica-simpson-kissed-justin-timberlake-after-divorce-nick-lachey/) however, Timberlake told Simpson that he kissed her for a dare.
Simpson recalled the night she spent with Timberlake on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel.’
“After divorce and he was out of a relationship, he was, like, over at my house, we shared a nostalgic kiss, but I thought, ‘Oh, this is interesting,'” she recalled to the talk show host. “And he took his phone out and started typing. And I was like, ‘Okay, I hope that’s not, like, another girl. Like, did I, like, stick my tongue out too much or, you know?'”
Simpson thought their kiss might hold the possibility of going further until Timberlake revealed why he was really on his phone.
“But apparently him and Ryan Gosling had a bet on who would kiss me first when they were 12-years-old,” she said. “And so, he texted Ryan and said he won the bet. And I was like, ‘Oh, okay. Um…So we don’t kiss again. That’s done.'”
Simpson also revealed that she actually would have preferred if Ryan Gosling had won the bet.
“Ryan was the one that I was, like…when I was 12, I was, like, ‘This guy is so cool and he’s from Canada,'” Simpson admitted. “I don’t know where that is on the map, but I really think that that’s amazing.’ And there was something so cute about him. But Justin won the bet.”
Are we back in middle school? Sorry, Gosling, better luck at the prom!
Simpson opened up about her relationship and divorce with Nick Lachey in 2005 to [People.] (https://people.com/music/jessica-simpson-reveals-drinking-pills-new-memoir/)
“Nick loved the fact I was so strong in my faith and that I had this wide-eyed innocent approach to life. When he proposed in 2002, I said yes,” Simpson told the outlet.
“We really got crushed by the media and by ourselves,” she wrote. “I couldn’t lie to our fans and I couldn’t give somebody hope that we were this perfect golden couple.”
She eventually married Eric Johnson in 2014. Since then the couple has three children together named Maxwell, Birdie and Ace.
