Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they were stepping away from their royal duties, negative reports continue to swirl around her.
The British tabloids continue to report that there’s a feud between Meghan and other members of the royal family.
Whether or not this is true remains to be seen. However, it appears that Meghan has at least the support of one member of the family.
Harry’s stepmother Camilla Parker Bowles reportedly has a close relationship with Meghan, and she was a key factor in Meghan and Harry making their decision.
While Camilla and Meghan’s friendship may come as surprise, the two have more in common than they think.
Like Meghan, Camilla has experienced her own bout of negativity from the British press.
When it was revealed that she and Prince Charles were having an affair while he was married to Princess Diana.
Diana was considered the People’s Princess and she garnered a lot of sympathy from the public following her divorce.
The British media was quick to label Camilla a homewrecker and the press constantly hounded her. Camilla received constant criticism for her looks, and how she’d never replace Diana in the public’s hearts.
The negative attention continued up until her marriage to Prince Charles in April 2005.
Since then, the media has toned down a bit in their criticism towards Camilla. She also seems to have won the hearts of the British public, who have accepted her.

For the past couple of months rumors have spread about tension between Meghan and other members of the royal family.
There were reports that she and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton weren’t getting along. There was also reports that Meghan was causing a strain in Harry and William’s relationship.
While there’s no telling if these rumors are true, it hasn’t stopped the press from speculating on Meghan’s relationship with the rest of the royal family.
As for Camilla, she’s experienced her own rocky relationship with the royal family, namely her mother-in-law Queen Elizabeth.
Elizabeth reportedly was furious over Charles and Camilla’s affair. For years, The Queen would snub Camilla. Even though she gave her blessing for Charles and Camilla’s marriage, she did not attend the wedding.
Recent reports state that Camilla and Queen Elizabeth have a better relationship now, and the two are on friendlier terms.
When Meghan moved to the United States to the United Kingdom, it was a big adjustment for her.
She had to leave behind her friends and her mother Doria Ragland.
It was no doubt tough for Meghan, and as she adjusted to her new life, she needed a lot of help.
Being Meghan’s mother-in-law, Camilla was quick to help out the newest member of the family.
Camilla was a great help in assisting Meghan with royal protocol and how to deal with the negative attention. She also helped Meghan make the biggest decision of her life.
While other members of the royal family may disagree with Meghan and Harry’s decision, Camilla played a key role in the couple’s plan.
When Meghan confided in Camilla and told her of her plans, Camilla was very supportive. She understood how Meghan felt. She also encouraged Meghan and Harry to do whatever makes them happy.
While it’s going to be sad for Camilla and the rest of the royal family to see the couple go, they have to accept Meghan and Harry’s decision.
