Season 17, episode 14 of NCISreminded a lot of fans of the earlier days, when there was a mystery at the heart of the episode, along with emotional subplot and suspense surrounding the narrative. This episode left fans at the edge of their seats, near tears.
However… the question is, is Gibbs becoming darker? We’ve only seen ‘Dark Gibbs’ in a few episodes here and there throughout seventeen years, and it’s been pretty quiet for a bit. The show has, of course, changed over the course of the years, but it seems that fans are hoping they keep the ‘old style’ current.
He is a born leader, whose unorthodox approaches and willingness to bend the rules, ensure the job is done, and done right. Gibbs works in the Navy Yard in Washington D.C.
He was born in Stillwater, Pennsylvania, and was the only child of U.S. Army Air Force veteran Jackson Gibbs, and his wife, Ann Gibbs. His name comes from Jackson Gibbs’ best friend and business partner.
He first married Shannon Gibbs, a local girl from Stillwater, in 1982. He met her right before he deployed. Kelly Gibbs, their daughter, was born in 1984.
It’s important to mention that his wife witnessed the murder of a Marine, by the Mexican drug cartel leader, Pedro Hernandez, and was planning to testify against him. The two female Gibbs were placed under the Naval Investigative Service’s protection.
While deployed in Desert Storm, Gibbs learned that both his wife and daughter were murdered. He opted to stay and fight, finishing his tour when he became wounded and comatose. He received the Purple Heart.
During recovery, Gibbs met Agent Mike Frank, a member of NIS, and Franks was investigating their deaths.
Once recovered, Gibbs personally traveled to Mexico and shot Pedro Hernandez. From there, Gibbs has done a lot, however, if you’re interested in more, you should watch the series.
NCIS posted on Twitter, teasing the question: “Umm… How about that, #NCIS fans?” Fans were outraged. Assuming Gibbs did kill Xavier, it just wouldn’t make sense as he’s left a previous killer alive… and fans were hoping he’d get caught sooner rather than later.
Fans are also afraid this means Harmon will be leaving, and… well, NCIS would not last very long without Gibbs, at least that’s what they say. Did they forget Gibbs went on a Mexican hiatus for a while, and Tony led the team?
I can't believe he would do that after everything Ziva did for recently. Mark Harmon & Rocky Carroll need to GO off #NCIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end of S17, E14 has fans wondering who killed Xavier. Xavier was a man who deserved what he got, after attempting to kill Torres and he was just super arrogant and bossy, had no respect for the law or the law-men. Good riddance.
But that doesn’t solve the question–did Gibbs kill him? Agents are not supposed to play executioner, but we’ve seen this happen often with Gibbs, and sometimes other characters too.
The end of the episode heavily implied that the father-figure of the group has turned vigilante.
Personally, I’m saying probably.
Agent Gibbs has lost a lot of people, his parents, his first wife, he’s lost various agents, and he blames himself for a lot of that loss. He’s definitely the sort of guy who takes protecting his people seriously.
He killed Ari, when Ari was a threaten–well, actually Ziva killed Ari, but Gibbs was going too. That was a sad episode, Ari was Ziva’s brother, half-brother, but still, family. It was a test of her loyalty; and once she made that choice there was really no going back.
Regardless, if you mess with him or his people, he’ll hunt you down. We’ve seen this happen over and over, he’ll take matters into his own hands. From Pedro Hernandez, the man who killed his wife and child, to setting traps to lure others in that he can’t catch because for some reason they are outside the law.
