Vanessa Bryant showed incredible strength on Wednesday by writing a beautiful tribute to her husband, Kobe, and their 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, both of whom died Sunday in a tragic helicopter crash.
While comments on her Instagram post were disabled, fans have taken to other social media platforms to offer their support for her in this unimaginably difficult time.
“My heart and condolences go out to Vanessa, her daughters, the entire Bryant family & the families of the seven other lives who went home to be with the father. God will pull you through this because he came for his angels. Bless you,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“At a time when she is experiencing this horrific loss, she takes the time to come out and thank US. And makes sure the other families in the crash aren’t forgotten. The character and strength of Vanessa Bryant is something to behold,” another said.
“I have no idea how she found the strength to do this, especially because she owes us nothing,” commented a third fan. “God bless her and her family and may He continue to wrap them in his arms and hold them up during thos absolutely unimaginably horrific time.”
“I won’t ever be as strong as Vanessa Bryant. She didn’t owe an explanation to anyone,” another commented.
“My girls and I want to thank the millions of people who’ve shown support and love during this horrific time. Thank you for all the prayers. We definitely need them. We are completely devastated by the sudden loss of my adoring husband, Kobe — the amazing father of our children; and my beautiful, sweet Gianna — a loving, thoughtful, and wonderful daughter, and amazing sister to Natalia, Bianka, and Capri,” Vanessa wrote in part in her lengthy post.
“We are also devastated for the families who lost their loved ones on Sunday, and we share in their grief intimately.
There aren’t enough words to describe our pain right now. I take comfort in knowing that Kobe and Gigi both knew that they were so deeply loved. We were so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives. I wish they were here with us forever. They were our beautiful blessings taken from us too soon,” she continued.
“I’m not sure what our lives hold beyond today, and it’s impossible to imagine life without them. But we wake up each day, trying to keep pushing because Kobe, and our baby girl, Gigi, are shining on us to light the way. Our love for them is endless — and that’s to say, immeasurable. I just wish I could hug them, kiss them and bless them. Have them here with us, forever.”
She also asked people to donate to MambaOnThree.org to help support the families of the other seven victims in the crash.
