The Conners first started off as the reboot of the hilarious ’80s comedy series, Roseanne. But, unfortunately, after a few shameful tweets about former president, Barack Obama’s advisor, was made and posted on the internet by the show’s superstar. ABC decided to take action, by taking an entirely different route, removing Roseanne from the show and changing said show name to, The Conners. Well, two seasons later, Jackie, Dan, Becky, DJ, and Darlene Conner have created one hilarious sitcom, that may be heading into the third season.
Pop Culture reports that ABC has “started to negotiate with the producers of the Roseanne revival/spinoff.” It turns out that although most TV sitcoms begin with at least a six-year contract, The Conners have been given contracts year-to-year. Could this mean more money for cast members on an annual basis? Don’t forget that it’s ABC’s “second-highest-rated show, neck-and-neck with Modern Family” because fans fell in love with the Conners when they first appeared on television back in 1988.
ABC added that with the show’s huge success, they “would expect it to be back for another season.” In case you’re not a viewer, currently, in season two, Darlene finally chose to be with her former boss instead of her husband, David. Dan is still mourning the death of his wife Roseanne, but is slowly moving on with actress Katey Sagal, who plays his love interest. The eldest sister, Becky is now a single mother. DJ has a step-daughter and Jackie, well she’s still being Jackie ie the superstar of the show.
