Thomas Markle's Documentary Might Actually Make Its Way To The U.S.

Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle is no stranger to the spotlight. In addition to working in the film and TV industry for a majority of his life as a lighting director and a director of photography. However, Meghan marrying Prince Harry is his biggest claim to fame. Since the couple started dating, he has not been able to shut his mouth even if it means embarrassing his daughter. Now, Markle is making headlines for this tell-all documentary that he sat down for with Channel 5 in the UK.

Markle’s 90-minute documentary was supposed to be exclusive to the UK’s Channel 5 but since he is such a hot commodity there is now talks that the documentary will be picked up by several other channels including one in the United States. Markle has been trying to tell his story of his daughter for some time now and in addition to the Channel 5 airing, it will also air on Nine Network in Australia. Because the documentary is being picked up and people are showing a lot of interest, it is only a matter of time till it is picked up by a U.S. channel.

We can totally see CBS, CNN, NBC and even ABC picking up this documentary. It is sure to bring in a lot of numbers and there is no doubt that Markle will have us all glued to our televisions. In the past, without even being paid for it Markle has made some pretty intense accusation against his daughter. In addition, he has also had some hateful things to say about her marriage, her wedding and the fact that he didn’t get to walk his daughter down the aisle.

So, how did Nine Network get the rights to air the documentary? Apparently, it was negotiated by Alaska TV’s creative director Ian Lamarra. He is also overseeing the United States sale of the show. This has led to rumors that the documentary will have a U.S. presence. There is even a higher chance of the documentary coming over to the U.S. since it aired on Channel 5 last week to a shocking 1.4 million viewers. It had the leading numbers that night over Channel 4 and BBC Two.

“Thomas Markle: My Story” breaks down the relationship between Thomas Markle and his daughter. It takes a deep dive into what went wrong, when it went wrong and why. He also addresses his reaction to the wedding and how not involved he was during the whole process. Some may accuse Markle of looking for his 15 minutes of fame but is it wrong that we are willing to give it to him if we can get all the juicy details on what happens behind the scene?
