It was just under a year ago when Wendy Williams filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, following a string of alleged cheating affairs, which consequently resulted in the birth of a love child.

In a recent report, it was revealed that Wendy and her ex were able to split their assets fairly, while also working out a deal that would see Kevin sell his shares as co-founder of Wendy Williams Productions. It seemed rather clear that the famous talk show host wanted this chapter of her life to end sooner rather than later.

Her Divorce Has Been Finalized

Wendy’s wishes were granted when she became a single woman again last week, but the divorce settlement came at a cost. Aside from selling his portion of the production company he started with Williams, Kevin also kept hold of several properties he and Wendy purchased throughout their time together.

But according to sources, the 55-year-old is “relieved” to have the whole ordeal behind her — constantly talking about going through a divorce, all while dealing with the public humiliation as she sits in her purple chair on her talk show was becoming too much for the mother-of-one.

Insiders reveal that Wendy is looking forward to what the future has in store for her new life — especially now that she’s no longer tied to Kevin. And once a deal has been struck that will see the former manager leave the production company for good, she’ll have cut all ties with the man she’d once planned to spend the rest of her life with.

Cheating allegations surrounded Wendy’s marriage on a number of occasions, but things took a turn for the worse when reports claimed that Kevin had fathered a child with his longtime companion Sharina Hudson.

While the former radio personality never addressed the scandal at hand — not even on her popular daytime talk show — the fact that she would go on to move out of her family home and file divorce documents soon after was telling enough. Wendy didn’t need to make a statement given that everything was already being played out on in the press.

She Addressed Her Marital Problems On TV

During a taping of Wendy in April 2019, Williams felt comfortable enough to open up about her marital status, saying, “I have to tell you, you know, I’ve been dealing with issues with addiction, alcoholism, and I have a whole new life that I planned for myself and my son.”

“When you lay in a room with no TV and four gray walls all day … This is my life at the sober house. It’s one of the best things, honestly, that could have ever happened to me.”

And while it’s unclear on whether she’s still in close contact with Kevin, it’s been made perfectly clear that Wendy is living a much better life away from her ex-husband and her family and friends certainly seem to agree.

One source explained: "She keeps saying she’s living her best life, and everyone around her feels the same way.” Even staff members at her show have complimented the drastic change following Kevin’s departure as executive producer. People supposedly are no longer walking on eggshells.

News of Wendy’s new life after divorcing her ex-husband comes just months after it had been revealed how Williams’ talk show had been renewed through 2022.
