If you haven't seen Demi Lovato's performance at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, you are definitely missing out.

In her return to the Grammys stage (after a two year break) Lovato brought tears to the eyes of everyone in attendance, and those of us watching from home.

With her new single, "Anyone," which she wrote just before her overdose in 2018, she dominated the Grammys stage.

In the most beautiful gown she belted out the notes to her new song. We didn't want it to end.

In an Instagram post she shared almost immediately after her performance she stated, "What an unbelievable night. My first time back on stage in almost 2 years. So emotional for me. Thank you all for the love, support and for sharing this moment with me. I love you all."

It was clear in her performance that this was an emotional night for her. She started the song off strong, but quickly started crying and had to start over. The crowd cheered her on as her pianist restarted.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato were childhood best friends. They were even on Barney together. However, since then they've drifted apart and no longer label themselves as "best friends."

We're not sure exactly what's happened over the years between the two, but it's clear that they're not spending as much time together as they used to.

However, just after the performance, Gomez posted a picture on her Instagram story with a sweet message. Maybe that means they could be rekindling their friendship together.

"I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspirational, and DESERVED this moment was,” Selena said in her Instagram story. “Demi I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery.”

Lovato wrote the new single, "Anyone" right before she almost died from a drug overdose in 2018. In the lyrics to "Anyone," Demi sings, "Tired of empty conversation 'Cause no one hears me anymore," and "I feel stupid when I sing Nobody's listening to me."

This is obviously in reference to how alone she felt right before her overdose. We're glad she's feeling better, but it's hard to hear that she felt so alone back then.

Does this mean that Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are rekindling their friendship and getting back together? Who knows. It's possible they've been friends all along and just haven't told the media about it.

The two had been best friends since they were children, and clearly that's not something you can just throw away.

Either way, we're happy that Demi has people out their supporting her, and hopefully listening to her when she feels alone. If you haven't already, watch her Grammy performance, and bring tissues.
