In the summer of 2018, Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital for a drug overdose which shocked the entire world because she was a recovering addict. The old Disney star has always been outspoken about her struggles with addiction as she felt like she needed to be comforted by drugs through all of the turmoil and hardships she faced as a young actress and performer. Through her rehabilitation, Lovato has recovered from her addiction until this incident that left everyone concerned for her well-being and health.

Fast forward two years later and Demi Lovato will be having her first live performance since the tragic relapse. She will be performing her single, "Anyone" which was a song she wrote a few days before she overdosed. Lovato categorizes the song "as a cry for help" and dwells on the fact that she wishes she could have helped her younger self before her addiction got too out of hands. She is taking on a new leaf and is beginning to make music again in a new environment where she feels more mentally safe. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Demi Lovato even elaborates on how she may be wanting to start a family this decade and that could be with a man or a woman.


Demi Lovato's troubled past started with her career at Disney where she spoke about how that was the way she was introduced to drugs. Her stresses as a young emerging artist who has been in the public eye for decades now took a huge toll on her as a child and teenager. Lovato is still trying to grow out of the toxic stages of addiction that way she can produce more music for her fans and be in a better state of mind for herself.

The longtime actress and artist is also set to be performing the "National Anthem" at the Superbowl on February 2nd. This will be the first time Demi Lovato will be busily performing in front of a live audience in a couple of years. Her return back to the spotlight and music may help her grow out of the mental slump she has been in for ages now. Accepting her sexuality and body has always been vocal issues the singer has struggled with and maybe her voicing her hardships may lead to her having a more steady lifestyle. Only time can tell and we are all hoping she remains on the side of happiness and mental stability.
