Justin Bieber had taken a much-needed break from the music industry, but it’s only now that fans are learning what the real reason was behind the sudden hiatus.

After abruptly canceling his remaining shows from his Purpose tour, the singer made frequent trips to church with his wife, Hailey Baldwin, before going on to tell fans on social media to look to God when searching for clarity.

Of course, many didn't quite understand the sudden behavioral change from Justin, but it seems that the answers are slowly but surely being unraveled.

Sources revealed in 2018 that Bieber had dedicated a good amount of time to his religious beliefs, but it’s only now that Justin is shedding light on what happened to him.

Earlier this week, the 25-year-old had the chance to host a playback of his new album in West Los Angeles, surrounded by family, friends, and fans. And with reports having already gushed how his new music will touch on the struggles he’d faced in recent years, Justin had also taken a moment to get some things off his chest while at the event.

“I don’t even think I should be alive never mind thrive,” he said. Sources claim that Bieber broke down in tears shortly after, before going on to reveal how he had been “hurt by the industry” and “the people” within it.

Rising to stardom in his teenage years was a lot to handle for the “Yummy” hitmaker, who made it known that there came a point in his life where he simply didn’t know where to turn or who to talk to.

While he wouldn’t elaborate on his comments about being hurt in the industry, his manager and close pal Scooter Braun went on to add: “You walked with me through a lot of sh-t” as they shared a tearful moment in the presence of a packed crowd.

During his speech, Justin also thanked his wife and model Hailey Baldwin, saying: “I love you with all my heart … and I’m so proud of us,” while the likes of songwriter Poo Bear and longtime friend Alfredo Flores were also thanked for their loyalty and continued support.

From Tears To Laughter

It wasn’t all about the tears, though, as Bieber cracked a joke at Alfredo, saying that the photographer was cheating on him with Ariana Grande, but he was "totally fine with it." Alfredo is Grande’s personal photog, who’d been assisting the singer on her Sweetener world tour.

With no release date set for his new album just yet, it’s believed that the highly anticipated record could drop sometime after Justin’s multi-part YouTube documentary, "Justin Bieber: Seasons" premieres on January 27.
