Lil Nas X has had another epic year, in 2021. He's had multiple number one singles, along with finally putting out his debut studio album, "Montero."

Now, Lil Nas X is receiving his own day, in his hometown of Atlanta. This was solidified on Wednesday evening, in the ATL, according to TMZ.

October 20 Is 'Lil Nas X' Day

The Atlanta City Council ended up officially declaring October 20, as "Lil Nas X Day," as he went on to receive a commemorative plaque. The city also states that Nas X has "artistic influence and transformative influence."

The one who presented this award, was by city councilman and mayoral candidate, Antonio Brown. Brown is also Atlanta's first Black LQBTQ+ council member. As many know, Nas X is also a gay man, and is very outspoken, regarding his sexuality. The Lil Nas X Day plaque was presented at The Gathering Spot, in the downtown ATL area. "Real Housewives of Atlanta" stars, Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, were also present to see Nas X getting acknowledged.

Nas X Has The Number One Song In The US

Currently, Nas X has the top song in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This is for his "Industry Baby" single, featuring Jack Harlow. This record was initially released in early August, and debuted at number two. Since then though, it's momentum hasn't slowed down at all, and now, is number one. Industry Baby is Nas X's second number one song of the year, as his "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" single, debuted at number one, back in late March.

Nas X's Debut Album was Released Last Month

In addition to Nas X's "Industry Baby" single, his debut studio album, "Montero," was also released in mid-September. It went on to debut at number two, on the Billboard 200 chart. This contained even more hits, such as "That's What I Want," and "Scoop," featuring Doja Cat. Additional appearances on the album included Megan Thee Stallion and Elton John. Currently, Montero is the number six album, in the US. The album was initially announced in late March, and was planned for a summer release, but finally did so, in September

Nas X Helped Multiple Charities With Debut Album

Shortly after "Montero" was released, Nas X decided to helped several charitable organizations. According to TMZ, he donated proceeds from songs on the album, to LBGTQ charities. Bros In Convo, a Florida-based charity, received $33,140, from the "That's What I Want" song. Transinclusive Group, which assists transgender/non-conforming people, received $5,000 from the "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" single. CH-PIER and Compassionate Atlanta, also received $1,000. These two are dedicated to help LGBTQ members, by creating safe spaces in addressing issues, such as HIV.
