When Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton first started dating, it seemed like the pair would be at odds on almost anything. Shelton is a country boy at heart, and Stefani is a more refined, suburban kind of girl. Or, as CBS's Gayle King put it, Shelton is a beef-eating pickup truck, and Stefani is a vegan Porsche.

In an interview with King, though, Shelton and Stefani made it clear that these differences didn't ultimately play a huge role in defining their relationship.

"I feel like all of those things like that are just little details," Shelton said. "It has nothing to do with what matters, you know? And what matters to me is just the human being that she is on the inside. Gwen has a way of looking at life in a way that I've never experienced. And she always says that she doesn't understand what I mean, but she has a way of looking at a person's situation from every angle. She's the most understanding, kindhearted person I've ever met."

Throughout their years as a couple, neither Shelton nor Stefani have been shy about how much they love each other. "Blake saved my life, everybody knows that," Stefani said on Entertainment Tonight. "We are just having the time of our lives and we never expected that this late in our lives, so we're just trying to savor every moment together."

It doesn't get much more frank and adoring than that. Whatever they're doing, though, it seems to be helping their longevity. They've been together for more than four years.

Now, Shelton and Stefani are even making music together. They'll be performing their single "Nobody But You" at this year's Grammys.

"I can already tell you that's going to be one of the greatest rushes I'm ever going to experience, being on stage with Gwen Stefani at the Grammys, doing our song together,” Shelton said in an interview with ABC News. "The easiest thing in the world I've ever done is to sing any song with Gwen." Shelton is also nominated for an award at the ceremony.

Although Shelton didn't write the song, he's long felt that it was a perfect encapsulation of his relationship with Stefani.

"This was one of those songs where the more I heard it, the more I fell in love with it," he said when he was discussing the song in an interview . "I also realized how important it is for me and where I am in my life, and I think that’s why Shane [McAnally] was trying to get it to me."
