Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have managed to successfully remove themselves from the royal family, they'll likely have to spend far less time in the UK. That was part of the arrangement after all, allowing the couple to split their time between the UK and North America.

Now, one royal expert is suggesting that Markle may not be back in the UK for quite some time. After all, she has no official duties to perform in the country now.

"The general feeling is that we won’t see Meghan here again for a long time, as she has nothing here to do," UK broadcaster Neil Sean told Fox News. "Why would she come back now with no royal duties to perform?"

After Harry and Meghan announced they'd be stepping back from their duties earlier this month, there was a spat of drama about whether the Queen would allow the move. Ultimately, she did, and now this change is slowly but surely taking effect.

According to Sean, though, the Queen is still not happy about the change. "The queen spoke warmly of Meghan in her statement, but the truth is she is baffled as to why she opted out, as the queen really gave her such a warm welcome and that is the thanks she got," Sean said. "It has to be pointed out that Meghan also has never directly spoken with the queen about her unhappiness here in the UK... It’s more than rude to the monarch."

Sean also said that this move would ultimately be harmful for Prince Harry. "We all believe Harry will miss the love and support of his family and this will create tension as he adapts to his new life," Sean continued. "But the clause inserted into the statement that it will be ‘reviewed in a year’ is very telling... quite frankly, all three could be back."

The monarchy is certainly in for a period of change, but the couple surely thinks that this change will be a net positive for them.

Of course, part of the reason that Meghan and Harry chose to step back from many of their official duties is because of the brutal treatment of Meghan in the British press.

She's had almost no chance for privacy, and has been criticized for virtually every move that she makes. Sometimes, that criticism was warranted. On other occasions, though, the attacks seemed to be vicious just for the sake of it. Who can blame Meghan for deciding she was tired with that kind of treatment?
