After Joey Kramer filed a lawsuit against Aerosmith, the latter has since hired a security detail to prevent Kramer from accessing their rehearsal grounds ahead of the Grammys performance. Kramer arrived at the Los Angeles based studio only to be met by two security guards who informed him they had been instructed by the rest of the band members not to allow him into the venue. Kramer felt frustrated, although he accepted the news given that the guys were just on their job.

The embarrassing moment follows the drummer’s legal action of filing a suit against the band after they informed him that he could not perform at the upcoming Grammys and as a MusiCares person of the year scheduled for this weekend. Kramer complained that the band had waited until the 15th of January to inform him that he would not play at the awards. He claimed that his head was high as he was sure he took the right steps towards fighting for his right to celebrate the success of the band.

Kramer’s lawsuit stemmed from a request to audition on behalf of the band due to the minor injuries he had sustained in the last spring that kept him from performing for about six months. Kramer claimed to have recovered from the injuries during the 2019 fall, and was ready and capable of returning to the band and take part in the residency shows scheduled for November and December. However, his fellow band members, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, Steven Tyler, and Joe Perry insisted that he had to prove his ability to play, and to an appropriate level.

Kramer did not ignore their request and went ahead to send a demo to the group. However, they decided that he was not at the level he needed to be for him to perform with them at the MusiCares honor and the Grammys. In a statement that the group made to Fox News, they claimed that Kramer was their brother, and his wellbeing was of great importance to them. The band, however, noted that he had not been in the right emotional and physical state to perform along with the rest of the group.

The band argued that they had all through missed him and requested him to join them while playing, although he did not feel ready for it. According to them, he had waited the last minute to honor their invitation when it is too late for rehearsing ahead of the Grammys. The team considered it a disservice to Kramer, their fans, and the band at large to allow him to play without taking enough time for preparations. However, Kramer disregarded all the factors and went ahead to file a suit on the Friday night before the Grammys.
