A lot of celebs these days are getting into different trends that’ve popped up around delivering babies. One of the most popular ways to deliver a baby these days is through water births. Basically that involves a tub, and some warm water. Even in these cases where people choose to deliver their child this way, there’s usually a trained professional on hand to help. Jacksonville Jaguars player Dawuane Smoot, and his wife Aumari had to go through an improvised home delivery procedure!
A Pregnant Couple’s Worst Fears
In movies, delivering babies anywhere, but the hospital, is possible. In real life, the experience is terrifying. Especially when a pregnant woman literally collapses on her way to the hospital! According to the Smmot’s Aumari collapsed on her way out the door as she was going to be driven to the hospital to deliver her baby girl. Dawuane Smoot sprung into action and called 9-1-1. It was through the directions that he was given on the phone by the 9-1-1 operator that he was able to help his wife deliver their baby girl safely!
An All Around Scary Experience
The big defensive lineman shared his story through his IG page. In the post he thanked all of the people that were involved in the operation. Including the 9-1-1 operator that walked him through the steps of delivering a child. He did however share with his followers that he was very much frightened throughout the whole experience. Smoot mentioned in the post,
“Seeing you collapse on the floor while walking out the door to the hospital was the scariest moment of my life. But seeing your strength to stay calm and not panic allowed me to realize everything was going to be okay. God had our back”

All is Well
The picture on the IG post also seems to confirm that the little Ahlani Moon Smoot is doing well, looking real comfy in that large blanket. Although if they’re in Florida, she’s going to want to take that off pretty soon! Aumari Smoot also shared her side of the story on social media. She talked about how life was a rollercoaster. From her point of view it probably is, she mentioned,
“Life is a rollercoaster of emotions and events that I’m glad to be experiencing with the loves of my life in my husband, son Ahmir, and now our daughter.”
Things Could’ve Been Totally Different
There is really no point in looking back now and thinking what might have been. Thankfully as we mentioned, from the looks of things everyone involved in this scary situation is doing well. If the birth would’ve taken place just a couple of hours earlier, it may have caught Dawaune on his flight back from London! The Jaguars played a game there last Sunday. Luckily, Smoot was able to get back home and aid in the birth of his daughter. The cherry on top is that the Jaguars snapped their 18 game losing streak!
