The 'Game Of Thrones' Creator stated he wanted the series to end with 3 movies. The idea would have been groundbreaking and something the fans truly would have enjoyed. This bring more light to the six episodes that concluded the season. Many fans felt it was rushed. A three movie ending would have worked - but why didn't it come about?

George R.R. Martin shared his opinions on why the series didn't get a three-movie ending Reddit:

"Because HBO didn't want that. The executives said: We produce TV shows, we are not in the cinema business..." Martin continued, "Nowadays we don't have know where the lines between cinema, streaming service and television are"

This is a mentally that is good and bad at the same time. It's good because HBO knows exactly what type of content they want to produce. On the other side, this type of telling might closed them out to new innovative projects. Sometimes giving the fans what they want might just pay off better than sticking to the norm.
