No one is immune to the virus that is ‘Megxit’. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s dramatic announcement removing themselves from royal duties has managed to rope in Oprah. The former talk show host was recently accused of being the reason for Markle and her royal husband’s escape from England. Not only did she allegedly give them this idea, but she also advised them on a branding strategy when they did make the official exit. This has people taking sides on who the royal couple should take advice from, and why.

Oprah has since cleared up this misinformation with a statement exclusively to “People” magazine. “Meghan and Harry do not need my help figuring out what’s best for them, I care about them both and support whatever decisions they make for their family.” Oprah was a guest at the couple's wedding and she has maintained a good relationship with Prince Harry through mutual friends and all that Hollywood jargon. We are under the impression that if Oprah did give the couple some advice, they would have been wise to take it.

While Oprah managed to stay away from the royal drama for a few weeks she has unfortunately been linked to the couple again but on a lighter note. Oprah showed her support for Prince Harry, Meghan and baby Archie when a TMZ cameraperson caught up to them. Oprah said she “100% supports” the couple as they make this important transition. Furthermore, she goes on to say that the Queen knew this was coming. Pal Gayle King backed up her bestie telling the cameraperson, that no one in the family was blindsided and that includes Queen Elizabeth 2.

Prince Harry and Oprah are currently working together on a series surrounding mental health for Apple TV. This is most likely one of the ways Prince Harry plans on maintaining financial independence from his royal family. Oprah stresses that we all need to respect Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision. She believes they are forging their own path and truly need the support of the public. Oprah also takes the opportunity to reassure fans that the couple has thought long and hard about this and that she knows it was not an impulsive decision.

Oprah’s support is a huge co-sign for the couple. Seeing as they will no longer receive the financial support from the royal family, they will be looking for work. Prince Harry and Meghan were already spotted speaking to “Lion King” director John Favreau about her possibly getting into some voiceover work. Fans of Suits is hoping that Markle can do that spinoff there was buzz about when she left the show. Regardless of what it is, Oprah has co-signed which means they will be just fine.
