Carrie Underwood hit bombshell status with her latest Instagram update – no two ways about it. The “American Idol” winner and country music superstar took to the platform on Wednesday with as-yet-unseen footage from her new “Drinking Alone” music video, basically managing to drop her followers’ jaws in the process.
The 36-year-old’s post came as promo for the song’s video, with the NYC setting, bombshell hair, and old bar feel also affording a throwback feel to the speakeasy vibes of the 1930s.
You can see Carrie’s video here.
The video was brief, but it likely did it for Carrie’s fans. Footage showed the “Cry Pretty” singer welcoming her fans to the set of her music video.
“Hi, it’s Carrie Underwood. Welcome to the set for my new music video: “Drinking Alone.” Today, we are in New York City,” Carrie said, also confirming that the shoot location was in the Big Apple’s Lower East Side.
Carrie was looking dazzling. The star had opted for a black jumpsuit with sheer sleeves and legs. The one-piece also featured pop of gold echoing Underwood’s blonde locks. Carrie wore smokey eye-makeup, plus a statement black fedora hat.
Carrie has one of the most solid fanbases around. The star’s Instagram followers were quick to fill the post’s comments section with feedback.
“I love this song, you deserve this,” one user told Carrie.
“Love the BTS video. Thank you Carrie,” another said.
The 30’s vibes was also noticed by one fan.
“This was one of my favorite performances of your tour. The atmosphere you created with this son was unbelievable!!! The Jazz club vibe you created and the little nuances you added was phenomenal!!!!” they wrote.
If you’re a die-hard Carrie fan and have already seen the video on YouTube, you aren’t alone. A few comments did come in seeing users claim that they’d seen this “weeks ago.”
Like all professional entertainers, Carrie will put on that glittering smile. Last year saw the singer reveal that not all of her smiles have been genuine, though.
Speaking about the three miscarriages that she suffered in two years prior to welcoming 1-year-old son Jacob in 2019, Carrie admitted to the inner sadness.
“I was still trying to do my job and put on a smiley happy face and be Carrie Underwood. And then I’d go home and fall apart, she said when profiled by The Guardian.
2019 saw Carrie give up a tenure that she’d held for 12 years. The star announced that she’d no longer be hosting the CMAs – the “torch” would be passed, Carrie said.
That said, things are far from over in other aspects of the singer’s life. Carrie’s Calia by Carrie athleisurewear line is flying off shelves, her “Cry Pretty 360” tour was a giant hit, and her family life with husband Mike Fisher is going strong. In fact, baby Jacob melted Instagram just yesterday as he smashed his first birthday cake.
