Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is 2 years old, his sister Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor is just four months old. Yet, neither of them have met their maternal grandfather Thomas Markle. Meghan’s controversial dad appeared in Good Morning Britain recently after a long hiatus from the British press. He revealed that Harry and Meghan have still not introduced him to his grandkids. He could be contemplating suing his daughter and son-in-law to get the chance to see the kids. Although, he says this isn’t necessarily something that he wants to do!
The Peaceful Solution Is Still On The Table
Markle mentioned that he was hopeful that he would be able to meet his grandkids at a certain point. However, he certainly hinted at the possibility of taking legal action in an effort to see them. Although the man hasn’t spoken to his daughter in over two years, before her wedding to Prince Harry, he’s still hopeful that the two could come to some type of an agreement. He told Good Morning Britain,
“I don’t want to include my grandchildren in this situation, I want to see my grandchildren with friendly parents and friendship all around.” He would go on to add, “I don’t want hostile parents when seeing my grandchildren. So I’ll wait.”
Was This Lawsuit Idea A Threat?
Although Thomas Markle is saying that he wants to make sure that he meets his grandkids under joyful circumstances a lot of people are taking this talk about a potential lawsuit as a threat. Again, Markle did mention he hoped to see his grandkids on the best terms. For now, he’d be waiting to see if Meghan picks up the phone and calls him. He did tease the lawsuit idea while taking a shot at Meghan and Harry saying,
“People have suggested in California I could sue to see my grandkids. But I think if I did that I’d be doing the same thing Meghan and Harry are doing.”

Is This A Type of Issue That You Can Take To Court?
From what we’ve been able to gather Markle is actually correct in stating that he could sue for the right to visit his grandchildren. For the most part, grandparents who go to family court raise concerns about the safety and well-being of the child. Suing your son or daughter whom you haven’t talked to in years for visitation rights of your grandkids is a bit tougher. However, the law does state that Markle has the right to do that. The official California courts site even mentions that it would be an uphill battle for Markle,
“Under the law, a grandparent who wants to ask the court to order visitation with a grandchild can file a petition in court. It is difficult to figure out exactly how to file this petition … There may be no open case, and you, as the grandparent, may have to file a petition in court starting a case from scratch.”
Not A Big Fan of Harry
Is there really a solution to this issue that could see Thomas Markle avoid court? Judging from the way that Mr. Markle has behaved over the years it wouldn’t be completely out of left field to think that this man would be willing to go to court and create a media circus. This was the same guy who accepted cash to do a fake photoshoot of him trying on suits for the wedding. Plus, he’s been really vocal about his dislike of Prince Harry. That probably isn’t getting him any closer to his grandkids. Markle recently said of Harry,
“I think Harry has abandoned the Queen, his grandmother, the royal family, the British people and the Army.” he continued his rant saying, “He’s abandoned them all. All he does now is ride a bicycle around the neighborhood… I don’t know if it’s much of a life for him either. It doesn’t make sense.”
