Do we have a White House trespasser on our hands? A gate jumper? Alyssa Milano protesting?
DING, DING, DING!
The “Charmed” actress was arrested on Tuesday, October 19 at the White House.
Milano was there along with many others protesting with People for the American Way and People for the American Way Foundation.
According to the foundation’s website, ‘PFTAW’ and ‘PFTAWF’ “are progressive advocacy organizations founded to fight right-wing extremism and build a democratic society that implements the ideals of freedom, equality, opportunity and justice for all. We encourage civic participation, defend fundamental rights, and fight to dismantle systemic barriers to equitable opportunity.”

The actress alongside the group was protesting for the Biden Administration for change.
Prior to her arrest she tweeted, “I’m about to risk arrest for voting rights. With Ben Jealous and the activists of @peoplefor, we demand @POTUS act to secure passge of the #FreedomToVoteAct, the #JohnLewisVotingRightsAct and #DCStatehood. Access to the ballot can’t depend on your zip code. #Don’tMuteOurVote.”

She later revealed that she had in fact been arrested during the protest.
“Alyssa Milano” began trending on Twitter on Wednesday, October 20.
“I was just arrested for demanding the Biden Administration and the senate to use their mandate to protect voting rights,” she wrote. “Stand with me and @peoplefor and tell the Senate and White House that voting rights shouldn’t depend on where you live. #DontMuteOurVote.”

Many of her fans were SHOCKED to see she had been arrested for supporting the Freedom to Vote Act.
One fan responded to her arrest tweet, “I cannot believe you were arrested for supporting the Freedom to Vote act. I read up on it and shared some highlights on a Facebook comment only to be met with hate comments. Thank you for your courage.”
Another impassioned person replied, “Voting should be hard. Or an inconvenience. It’s our right. Protect it! Thank you to all those out there physically there when so many of us can’t be there ❤️.”
Protesters In Action!
Another activist at the protest also got arrested with Milano and snapped a pic to commemorate the occasion.
Charles Williams II tweeted, “Alyssa Milano and I got arrested today to send a clear cut message pass #votingrightsnow and #endthefilibuster we fight until we win. #NoJusticeNoPeace #goodtrouble.”
Despite the arrest, it appears the actress plans to testify in front of Congress on Thursday, October 21.
She tweeted on October 19, “Announcement On Thurs (10/21), I will be testifying in front of Congress in support of the ERA. The lack of Constitutional protections for anyone who is not a cisgender man is a blemish on the very idea of Americanism.”
