To the surprise of literally no one, Donald Trump is once again making wild, unsubstantiated claims on social media. On Tuesday morning, amid the Senate trial for his impeachment, the President tweeted that the democrats are rigging the election against Bernie Sanders.

"They are taking the nomination away from Bernie for a second time. Rigged!" he wrote.

"As much as Trump would love to tear the Democratic Party apart by having us do it ourselves, it’s not going to happen. We’re all voting blue no matter who whether it’s Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Andrew Yang, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, or some billionaire," one person replied.

"They will take his votes away from him and redistribute them to other candidates," another joked.

"its great that you are so concerned about Bernie, sir! Don’t worry though, with any luck, you’ll be #RemovedFromOffice by then, and you’ll be able to vote for him!" another commented.

This is the second time in a week that Trump has railed against the democratic party for the way he views its treatment of Sanders.

"They are rigging the election again against Bernie Sanders, just like last time, only even more obviously,' he wrote on Twitter last Friday. "They are bringing him out of so important Iowa in order that, as a Senator, he sit (sic) through the Impeachment Hoax Trial. Crazy Nancy (Pelosi) thereby gives the strong edge to Sleepy Joe Biden and Bernie is shut out again."

For his part, Sanders responded to Trump's claims of the election being rigged by denying any such thing.

"Let's be clear about who is rigging what," Sanders said in a statement, according to the Boston Herald. "It is Donald Trump's action to use the power of the federal government for his own political benefit that is the cause of the impeachment trial. His transparent attempts to divide Democrats will not work, and we are going to unite to sweep him out of the White House in November."

In Bernie's most recent tweets, he's been focused on the issues, not any kind of election meddling.

"Our country is facing a crisis in mental health. We must treat addiction as a health issue, not a criminal issue. And we must say that mental health care is part of health care. Mental health care will be covered under Medicare for All," he wrote on Wednesday.

"To restore our one person, one vote democracy, we must pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and stop the slide to oligarchy," he added in another tweet.
