October 18 was a tough day for Alexander Rodriguez, popularly known as “A-Rod,” as he was trolled regarding Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
Lopez broke things off with Rodriguez following a four-year relationship, including a two-year engagement. In April, the “Hustlers” actress began dating Affleck, who she was engaged to from 2002 to 2004.
Publicly trolled Over His Ex
During the postgame coverage of the Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros that Monday, Rodriguez was attacked with comments about Lopez and her new beau.
Social media users uploaded backstage footage from Fox’s Game 3 coverage of the American League Championship Series. In one video, fans chanted “J. LO” and yelled “Affleck” in the other.
US Magazine reported that a fan asked Rodriguez about his favorite Affleck movie, then referenced “Good Will Hunting,” adding, “Ben Affleck’s got J. Lo, how do you like them apples?”
The baseball star seemed unbothered as the background chants during the broadcast. He continued to talk about the game won by the Red Sox when another fan cut him off, yelling, “She left you with Ben Affleck!” said the troll.
Being with the New York Yankees makes Rodriguez familiar with hate from Boston fans, unlike Affleck, a famous Red Sox fan.
In August, a source told the magazine that the Oscar-winning director and Lopez are “both madly in love and don’t want to let one another go this time.”
Focusing On The Positives
In August, The Blast reported that Rodriguez was looking at the bright side of his split despite his tough previous year.
The baseball commentator said he spent his summer Yachting in the French Riviera and reflected on his past relationship with Lopez in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Rodriguez said, “I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters, we learned so much,” and they were grateful for their lessons.
The 46-year-old said he is in a good place, and he and his daughters are looking towards bettering the next five years of their life with the lessons learned.
Severing All Ties
The Blast also shared that Lopez did not only end things with Rodriguez romantically but also cut him off as a business partner.
The exes are invested in the self-care company “Hims & Hers” and partnered with fitness app Fitplan to provide fitness coaching, according to PageSix.
An insider told US Magazine the “Enough” star would be tying off their loose business ends via her management team and lawyers.
The source added Lopez would have to sell her side of the company or buy out her ex, but she is fine as long as she is no longer tied to him, which she considers fair to Affleck.
