Kelly Ripa‘s Instagram account just got pretty TMI. The “Live” With Kelly and Ryan” host made headlines this weekend for posting a shirtless photo of son Joaquin – the 49-year-old took to Instagram on Saturday with a photo of Joaquin after his wrestling match. Another also showed the teen more clothed, and you can see both snaps below.
Joaquin Consuelos may have been the initial focus of the update, but a caption from Kelly took things down the tampon route – well, she was referring to dealing with (or preventing) a possible bloody nose situation.
Kelly’s photo showed Joaquin with his teammates. The 16-year-old did have some tampon-esque plugs in his nose, with Kelly being her usual witty self when it came to her caption.
“You win some, you lose some, and sometimes you get a tampon shoved up your nose. #mayorscup #wrestlers #wrestlerslife ?♂️,” Kelly wrote.
While many comments coming in saw the star told how amazing her son looked (and how fast he’s grown), some users had zero’d in on the mention of feminine hygiene products.
Kelly isn’t one of those celebrities who just lets fans comment (without ever replying). The blonde regularly responds to her fans, and she definitely did that today.
A comment came in with a question for Kelly.
“Was it a light or regular flow day @kellyripa?” the fan wrote.
“I would say heavy,” she wrote, adding an alien emoji. Of course, the conversation pertained to Joaquin’s nose plugs. Nonetheless, the star’s quick wit manifested.
The update also garnered a celebrity response – Lisa Rinna swooped in asking: “Could he be ANY CUTER?!!!”
Lisa herself got noticed by Kelly on Instagram this weekend. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star posted a bathroom video of herself dancing to Beyonce. Kelly left the 56-year-old a like – check out Lisa’s tequila-fueled moves here.
Kelly just seems to be one of those faces. Social media can’t get enough of the star’s marriage to Mark Consuelos, with the couple’s three children proving some of the most-adored around.
Particularly adored by fans seems to be Kelly’s 18-year-old daughter Lola. Unlike most teens, Lola appears to use social media with caution, only recently having lifted the lockdown status from her Instagram.
Lola is currently enrolled at NYU. The teen recently made headlines for wowing Instagram by showing how well she can sing.
Kelly’s nest is getting emptier – when The Cut profiled the star in January 2019, daughter Lola was still at home. The feature saw Kelly speak of the “joys” of having older children.
“I can say, 100 percent, my schedule is easier now. There was a 15-year period where I went to work and then I’d head right to my kids’ school or a sporting event or made sure I was at the concert,” she said.
“Now that I’ve got one kid that’s almost done with college, one that’s going into college, and one that is halfway through his sophomore year of high school, I have a lot more time to free me up to do other projects. Maybe start acting again, who knows,” she added.
