Fans Dub 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 18 Trailer As Cringeworthy

There is no little hype as "Grey's Anatomy" just begun its newest and 18th series. This series is popularly known as one of the longest-running medical dramas in the US, with over 350 episodes aired.
Since the previous season ended, fans have been speculating whether season 18 will be the last. So far, no one knows.
This season has generated a lot of buzz with the recently released trailer, which showed the return of a few old casts. One of them is fan-favorite Kate Walsh, who played Addison Montgomery, Derek Montgomery's wife.
Walsh starred on the show until she left and appeared on the "Private Practice" as one of its lead characters.
Addison Montgomery was a major fan-favorite right from her iconic entrance at the beginning of the show's first season. Hence her return has added more than a little hype to this season.
Fans' Reaction To Kate Walsh's Return
This announcement came to light through the "Grey's Anatomy" Instagram account. The page shared a video of Walsh saying, "Well, well, well, would you look who it is, my loves. That's right, Dr. Addison Montgomery is coming back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital." She went on to say, "Just wait till you see what she has in store!"
Fans were having a field day in the comment section as one user wrote, "Someone get me a crash cart I'm not breathing."
Another commented saying, "I'M HYPERVENTILATING."
Walsh also surprised her fans on Instagram by giving a big YES when asked, "Will you ever come back to Grey's Anatomy?" during a "Questions I get asked" video.
Ellen Pompeo then added to the buzz by commenting, "Lets give them what they want…..quality tv drama."
Fans' fingers are crossed because they know that Addison is bringing the sauce.
How Is The "Grey's Anatomy" Trailer Cringe-Worthy?
Even with the craze behind the return of cast members like Addison, many fans are dissatisfied with the new season's trailer. They have gone as far as calling it 'Cringe-worthy.'
For years, the trailers of Grey's anatomy have not failed in getting fans riled up with excitement for what's next. However, this year some fans are just not feeling it.
After the coronavirus plotline where Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) was put out of commission for most of season 17, many fans expected big things for this season.
However, these expectations were dashed when the trailer came out and gave little indication of what comes next.
There was also a lot of negative buzz about the music that was used. It was dubbed 'Hallmark music,' and a Reddit user spoke out, saying, "So naff in the latest seasons. Total cringe fest."
Fans Less Than Favourable Reactions To The ABC Trailer
The trailer has gathered even more negative buzz and has been termed "awful" and "amateurish."
A Reddit user said that it "hurts more than all my favorite character deaths combined." The comments under the post are not much different.
One user's post complained that "ABC is HORRIBLE at promotion," and another said, "This isn't even a trailer. It's a recap (and a [crappy] one at that) of the last season finale."
The ire for the video is so much that fans have compared it to the work of an amateur with basic video editing software.
In light of this, we can say that this trailer has earned a less than favorable position among fans. However, most fans have maintained that their excitement for the show hasn't been reduced in any way by the video clip.
All We Know So Far
After cutting Season 17 short because of the coronavirus outbreak, ABC officially renewed this long-running viewer favorite for a new season in May 2021.
This decision came after lead roles like Ellen Pompeo, Camilla Luddington, and more signed new contracts to return to the show. There are few known factors about the new season overall.
The series will, of course, pick up where it left off during the covid outbreak. There will be the return of old characters like Kate Walsh, as Dr. Addison Montgomery, Abigail Spencer as Megan Hunt, and Kate Burton, as Dr. Ellis Grey.
New faces like Peter Gallagher as Dr. Alan Hamilton will also be introduced.
Some fan theories claim that Meredith could be diagnosed with Alzheimer's this season, while others claim that she already did and the entire show was just her reading from a journal.
