'Vanderpump Rules' Star Max Boyens Speaks Out About Racist Tweets

By Natalie Hunter

'Vanderpump Rules' star Max Boyens has been under fire for racist tweets that recently resurfaced. He issued an apology statement, but many fans aren't having it.

Boyens has already caused a fair bit of drama on his first season of 'Vanderpump Rules.' He had briefly dated Sur server Scheana Shay. After allegedly ghosting her, he moved onto new server Dayna Kathan. This has created a rift between Shay and Kathan. Shay has also already been called out by Brett Capprioni.

According to PopCulture, Boyens issued an official apology statement to People.

"I want to sincerely apologize for what I tweeted in 2012 — it was wrong on every level," he said. "It is not a representation of who I am. I am shocked I ever tweeted that — and I am disgusted and embarrassed — I am truly sorry."

Boyens had tweeted a slew of offensive tweets involving the"N-word," derogatory comments toward Asian people and using the term queer offensively.

"It upsets me that the word n— is not allowed to be said unless you are black because quite honestly it's my favorite word," Boyen tweeted in 2012 documented by facereality16.

"Something about Asians that just makes me want to punch them in the suck hole," he wrote in a separate tweet.

"Theres this girl I see everyday [at] school, she looks just like the girl from the movie precious & I'm not just saying this cuz she’s big and black," Boyen tweeted at the time.

"When is Justin Bieber going to realize that saying n— and cussing and having big booty b—es in his songs is the cool thing to do #queer," he tweeted.

Many fans don't believe that his apology is enough.

"Racists running rampant on #vanderpumprules #PumpRules working at @tomtomweho this is totally UNACCEPTABLE @TomSandoval1 @twschwa @LisaVanderpump . Maybe hire some POC and allow cast to be DIVERSE like WEHO/CALI is! Boycotting until Max & other racist new cast member are FIRED," one angry user wrote.

"He was 20!! Old enough to know what is right and wrong! It’s not like he was 8 years old tweeting raised by ignorant parents!" another chimed in

"So apparently in a #Trumpworld , it’s ok to cast blatant racists on your tv shows @BravoTV @Andy ?? @vanderpumprules @max_boyens tweets are beyond reprehensible and inexcusable. I love some BravoTV but a boycott is looking likely until they clean house @Darc_Collins," a frustrated Bravo fan added.

Boyens is currently the general manager of Tom Tom. There is no word on whether his job or position on the show is at risk after these tweets.
