It Is Time For A Break

Okay, maybe that wasn't the reason, but Reynolds did stress how much he had to mature as an artist and director in order to take on such a large production, and how satisfying it was, noting that "singing, dancing, and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true."

"Not sure I'd have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago," Reynolds wrote.

Caine made the remark in response to recent speculations that he was retiring from acting following an interview in which he hinted he was done with filmmaking. The British actor then denied the claims in a tweet, and insiders told Variety that he is still working on two projects.

What Is Spirited?

The musical "Spirited" is a reinterpretation of Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol." Reynolds plays Ebeneezer Scrooge, while Ferrell plays the Ghost of Christmas Present. While there is no official launch date for the film, we may assume it will be around the holidays.

Michael Caine, ironically, also played Scrooge in "The Muppet Christmas Carol" in 1992, alongside a similarly energetic cast. He and the Muppets haven't responded to Reynolds' post or Lively's remark.

In 2021, the actor acted in two films: Hitman's Wife Bodyguard and Free Guy, the latter of which was a surprising box office and critical success. He'll next be seen starring Gal Gadot and Dwayne Johnson in the action picture Red Notice, which will launch on Netflix on November 12th.
