Celebrities have to look good most, if not all the time; it's a part of what many fans expect. But looking good isn't always easy, and skincare is essential to having that fresh, good look on their skin, even without makeup.
Thus, skincare has become a huge trend in Hollywood. Many famous people have revealed their routines to attain and maintain fresh, smooth, and healthy skin.
One such celebrity is Gwyneth Paltrow. The actress, singer, and businesswoman revealed her skincare routine in a beauty secrets video for Vogue.
She also shared the products she uses in her routine, spoke about her beauty and wellness brand, Goop, her daughter and makeup connoisseur, Apple, and what she learned about beauty and skincare in her 40s.
Paltrow Starts With An Exfoliator And A Serum
Paltrow began her routine with an exfoliation using a product from Goop, her beauty line. She explained that the GoopGlow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator is a product she cannot live without because it provides a smooth, radiant base for her skin.
According to the Goop site, this exfoliator is a physical and chemical product that gets rid of the roughness and uneven texture of the skin.
After this, the actress applied the Active Botanical Serum from Vintner's Daughter, an oil-serum hybrid serum-containing twenty-two active organic botanicals mixed with very powerful essential oils.
While she applied the serum on her face, neck, and decolletage, Paltrow said, "It's incredible to know that there are clean, non-toxic products that are really efficacious and really work wonders on your skin."
Eye Mask, Sculpting Bar, And Moisturizer
After exfoliating and using the serum, Paltrow moved on to the hydrating eye mask and Gold sculpting bar from the beauty brand of celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey.
She stuck the Hydrating eye masks beneath her eyes and then massaged the area with the 24 karat Gold sculpting bar. While she applied these products, she explained that she never had a skincare routine as a teenager, unlike her daughter, as she was a tomboy.
Hence, she only ventured into skincare much later in her life.
She then moved on to moisturizer and recommended Weleda Skin Food as a "super rich, fantastic moisturizer" that is a great clean and non-toxic beauty and skin product and can be bought at the drugstore.
She added another layer of moisturizer, albeit a different one, one from Goop itself-- a yet to be released product called the Glow Lotion.
Beauty Lesson
Paltrow also spoke about the lesson she learned about beauty, skincare, and aging.
She said, "One of the things that I really learned as I get well into my 40s is how important it is to take good care of your skin from the inside out. That means hydration, exercise, breathing fresh air, going for a walk, eating foods that are high in nutritional density. I really believe that as women we should feel free to do whatever we want as we age in order to feel our best selves."
After this, she moved on to makeup and shared her secret weapon, which she always has in her bag, the Olio E Osso tinted balm.
She explained that to use it, she just dabs a little on her cheek. According to Paltrow, the tinted balm gives an excellent lift, a healthy glow, and is lovely on the lips.
Paltrow Gave A Shoutout To Her Daughter
As she concluded her routine, Paltrow gave a shoutout to her daughter, Apple, and said she is very good with makeup.
She said, "My daughter is very into the beauty world and knows everything. She has these amazing long nails that are painted in such cool ways. She's got her lashes. I mean, she knows how to contour. That girl is just on fire with her routine."
She also joked that she couldn't understand where Apple got her talent from, as she can barely put on concealer.

She concluded with a swipe of her mascara from Kosas and her lip balm from Goop. She also shared that she thinks mascara is perfect for showing that she is well-rested and "takes years off" from her face.
She then concluded that she is a lip balm junkie who loves using it for her dry lips and that when Goop finally got their lip balm formula right, it was a fantastic product that "sold out in like two seconds."
