Taylor Swift and Other Celebs Offer Reactions to Selena Gomez's New Album

Now that Selena Gomez's latest album "Rare" has been released, celebrities like Taylor Swift are weighing in with their thoughts on the album. Gomez and Swift have been public friends for quite a long time, and very supportive ones at that.

In a post on Snapchat, Swift shared the albums cover with the caption: "Congratulations to @selenagomez and everyone who had a hand in creating this stunning album!! Make sure to buy/stream/support this work of art and the beautiful soul who created it."

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Swift explained how the album was an evolution for Gomez. "This is the first time I’ve heard her truly channel the details of her emotional experience," Swift said. "I just thought, Wow, she’s finally allowing herself to let other people know things aren’t always OK. You can be vulnerable and lonely and independent and strong and brave and scared all at once."

It's clear that Swift is willing and eager to promote her friend's work.

Gomez also collaborated with a number of artists on the album, including Kid Cudi. Cudi, who has released six albums since achieving notoriety, was featured on the "Sweeter Place."

In an interview about the song, Gomez made it clear just how special the experience was for her, saying that shell never forgets working with Cudi. In a sweet reply, Cudi shared the sentiment. "I won’t forget it either!!" he wrote. "I had the best time!! Thank [you] for [having] me! Love!” Cudi also urged his followers to purchase the album, writing, “Go get this!!! Now!!"


During her 2019 Coachella set, rapper Cardi B brought Selena Gomez and a number of other artists out on stage with her, so it was no surprise that Cardi was eagerly anticipating Gomez's new album.

The rapper posted a screenshot of her listening to the album with the caption "@selenagomez congrats." She also added "voice so soothing," as a compliment to Gomez's vocals on the album. Gomez responded with a caption in her own story saying "Thank you my queen! Love you so much."

Even comedian Amy Schumer weighed in on the new album. Although music isn't her area of expertise, Schumer posted the announcement of "Rare's" release to her Instagram story. Gomez quickly replied: “You know how much I love you Amy! Thank you!”

Across social media, it's clear that the love for Gomez is quite fierce. As one of the first new albums of the year, Gomez's release has many people excited, and it seems to be earning a positive reception with both critics and fans.
