As members of the royal family, the couple was supported by taxes from the people of the United Kingdom, in addition to, the assets that the crown has accumulated over the centuries. But now, with the relocation to North America imminent, what will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do to make money as they enter civilian life?

While Markle certainly has the acting card in her back pocket, as she has been on wildly successful projects in the past, including the show Suits, there are quite a few options for the couple. It seems, though, that the two were already anticipating the need to find alternative revenue streams for when this moment finally came. Surprisingly, these opportunities could net the couple tens of millions of dollars a year.

Meghan Markle Inks Deal For Voiceover with Disney

Buried in all the drama that has emanated from the royal family and British media, Meghan Markle has inked a deal with Disney to provide a voiceover for a character in one of their projects. In fact, Markle completed her role in recording before the couple left for the Christmas holiday in Canada, back in December.

And although Disney is paying Markle for her services, it won't be going into their bank accounts. Both Prince Harry and Meghan decided to have the payment donated to Elephants Without Borders, an organization that tracks and prevents elephants from poachers. While this is certainly not a way for the couple to build their independent income, it might surprisingly be an avenue for them to eventually create a bank roll.

Creation and Development of a Charitable Organization

In the couple's formal announcement that they would be moving to North America, they also shared that it was their goal to start their own charitable organization. The two have consistently been involved with charities and have given back to people and wildlife throughout the world. In donating the Disney paycheck to Elephants Without Borders, it's becoming clear that Harry and Meghan might be forging alliances with other charities in order to create and develop one of their own.

It is true that most charitable organizations are non-profit, but this doesn't mean that the people who operate them aren't paid a salary or are compensated for operating the infrastructure within those organizations. According to the Huffington Post, John Seffrin, the CEO of the American Cancer Society, rakes in a cool 2.1 million dollars, while Roxanne Spillett, the president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, is paid 1.8 million dollars for her services and leadership.

Event Appearances and

If Harry and Meghan don't pursue income-driven methods through the creation and development of a charity, there are still other options for them and perhaps, they may even be more lucrative opportunities.

Just as international figures on the circuit that combine blue blood aristocracy and Hollywood notoriety, the couple could command six-figure, and potentially, seven-figure fees for making appearances at events. These amounts could become even be more realistic if they decide to retain their royal titles.

Still another option, and one that experts are leaning towards, is being a brand ambassador for global giants such as Google or Apple. It's estimated that if Harry and Markle were to partner with an industry giant, their compensation could rival almost nine-figures per year.

Countless Opportunities For Harry and Meghan

If the couple decides to go with any of these options, or a combination of them, they will be right on their way to establishing themselves in the next chapter of their lives. And on the other hand, if they don't pursue event appearances, development of a charitable organization, or acting as a brand ambassador, there are sure to be many more opportunities for both Prince Harry and Meghan to capitalize on in order to develop a steady income. It's simply a matter of time before the drama-filled life with the British media is a thing of the past.
