After spending four days battling an infection at the University of California Irvine Medical Center, Bill Clinton is on the road to a full recovery after being released from the hospital on Sunday.
As reported by PEOPLE, the politician was visiting California to promote his Foundation business when the incident occurred. The former attorney general of Arkansas was immediately admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a urological infection.
However, the situation escalated as his initial condition developed into a secondary infection. During an appearance on “Cuomo Prime Time,” Dr. Sanjay Gupta shed light on Clinton’s health.

According to the information released by the ex-president’s team to the CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, the father-of-one was suspected to be suffering from sepsis, a type of blood infection.
But as aforementioned, the “Between Hope And History” author was out of danger. This good news was confirmed by Angel Ureña, the spokeswoman for the ex-president, in a public statement on October 16.
She revealed that the 75-year-old was in “good spirits” as he was likely to be discharged at any moment. She also stated that the politician was grateful for the numerous well wishes from the public.
The Arkansas native’s condition has significantly improved with the help of his friends, family, and doctors. Among the list of visitors was the “Back To Work” author’s wife, Hilary Clinton.
The former first lady was captured in several photos and videos during her visit to the UCI Medical Center on October 14.
For those concerned that the ex-president was stuck in the ICU, The Blast has previously explained the truth behind the situation.

In the joint statement released by the politician’s caregivers, Dr. Alpesh Amin of UCI Medical Center and Dr. Lisa Bardack, Clinton’s primary physician. It was confirmed that the politician had been admitted to the ICU.
However, this was done to closely monitor the Arkansas native’s health in a private and secure environment rather than intensive treatment.
At his age, the 42nd president of the United States is no stranger to the hospital as he has experienced a few health complications in the past.
In 2004, Clinton had a quadruple bypass heart surgery. “The President Is Missing” author underwent another surgery to place two stents into his open artery six years later.
Despite the various occasions of poor health, the 75-year-old continues to defy the odds. As his health steadily improves at UCI Medical Center, it won’t be long before the former Arkansas governor is back on his feet.
