The world is still recovering from the shocking announcement that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made yesterday. In the announcement, the couple said that they would be stepping away from their duties as senior members of the royal family in order to focus more on their own family.

As part of this change, the couple is planning to split its time evenly between North America and England. One of the rumored destinations for the couple stateside is Los Angeles, which gave Andy Cohen an idea.

The executive producer of "Real Housewives" had no shame when it came to extending invite to the Duchess of Sussex. "Open invite for the Duchess to join #RHOBH !!!," he wrote on Prince Harry's Instagram post announcing the couple's decision.

Bravo's official Instagram account quickly joined in the fun, commenting: "Meghan Markle tagline suggestion: Beverly Hills is full of diamonds, but I’m the crown jewel 💎." While many in royal circles took the announcement seriously, some stateside were willing to have fun with it.

Fans were immediately thrilled with the idea and posted comments of their own suggesting potential taglines for the show. "Traded the monarchy for Malibu," one user suggested. Another went for something a bit more elaborate: "Meghan Markle’s #RHOBH tag line: American royalty is like everything else in Beverly Hills – fake. But I’m the real deal."

A third user wrote: "Finally, Queen of my own castle." Although she's unlikely to appear on the show, Markle is definitely a fan of the "Real Housewives."

In a 2016 interview in the UK when she was promoting "Suits," the former actress admitted that "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" was her guilty pleasure show.

Cohen's joke came following a shocking and eventful 24 hours for the royal couple. After they announced that they would be stepping back from most of their royal duties, it quickly became clear that the Queen wasn't pleased with the move. Following the announcement, the Queen released a statement of her own complicating the matter.

"Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage," Buckingham Palace wrote in a response to the couple's announcement. "We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that we will take time to work through."

While it isn't clear where Harry and Meghan will settle in North America, Los Angeles and Canada are both potential options. If they wind up in Canada, Markle could easily pop by the set of "Real Housewives" anytime.
