Cardi B has a massive social media platform, as she has been one of the biggest artists in the world, since the summer of 2017. Her breakout hit single, “Bodak Yellow,” put her in that position, and hasn’t slowed down since. Cardi has also been blessed with the opportunities to discuss issues in the United States, with politicians such as Senator Bernie Sanders, and President Joe Biden. Lately, though, the Bronx native hasn’t spoken much on politics and recently took to Twitter to clarify why.
Cardi Says Republicans And Other Critics Caused Caused Her To Not Speak Up Anymore
A fan said on Twitter initially said “@iamcardib Used to TALK ABOUT POLITICS & POLITICAL MATTERS! WHAT HAPPENED WITH THAT?!??” Soon, Cardi gave him his answer, and revealed that Republicans, and people who didn’t show Cardi love in return, played roles in her not having the desire to speak on politics, on the app, anymore.

Fans Voice Support For Cardi
After Cardi posted this tweet, she received an outpour of support, from her followers. They explained how she should continue to use her platform to address political issues, due to the strong popularity and notoriety that she has.

Cardi Received Backlash From Republicans For ‘WAP’ Single In 2020
This isn’t the first time that Cardi has been disapproved of by critics on social media, which include Republicans. One of the most notable ones, is Candace Owens. The two had clashed plenty of times over the past year. Wisconsin Republican congressman Glenn Grotman, also voiced her displeasure, for Cardi’s chart-topping “WAP” single, featuring Megan Thee Stallion. That record was initially released in August 2020. It debuted at number one, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is certified 6x platinum, in the US. Its music video also received criticism, due to its sexual content. The visuals included various celebrity appearances as well, such as from Kylie Jenner, Normani, and Latto. Despite critics, such as Republicans, WAP continues to be one of the biggest songs in the US, even over a year later.
