The Witcher Star Henry Cavill's Wild Dating Life

Whether you know Henry Cavill from his days of playing Superman or from his recent starring role on "The Witcher," you may know more about his acting career than you do about his personal life.

For many, his personal life has remained something of a mystery, in spite of the fact that he's obviously a very charming and handsome movie star. Although the former Superman actor has definitely settled down in recent years, he's had a fascinating dating life through his time in the spotlight.

When Cavill first rose to fame in the late 2000s, he had been dating English show jumping rider Ellen Whitaker for years. In 2011, the couple was even briefly engaged before they eventually split up.

Since then, some have become a bit more skeptical of the choices Cavill makes in his dating life. In 2016, he was dating actress Tara King. The issue some fans had with that relationship had to do with the massive age difference between the two stars.

King was only 19 years old at the time, which made her 13 years younger than Cavill. King couldn't even buy her own alcohol yet.

Cavill seems to prefer younger women. Before dating King, he also dated Marisa Gonzalo, who was 10 years younger than he was. If that wasn't strange enough, the two also had slightly different viewpoints on animal rights. While Cavill was a fervent activist, Gonzalo was an avid hunter who posts pictures of herself with animals she's killed.

Cavill's relationship with Gonzalo ended after he discovered that she was leaking information about them to the press. During an interview with Playboy, Cavilla attempted to explain how he'd ended up in two relationships with much younger women.

He explained that, because his life and career are so demanding, it's hard to date someone who already has their own career. “It’s a tough lifestyle…So unless I meet someone who’s very, very young who haven’t yet started trying a career," the actor explained.

Currently, Cavill is in a relationship with Lucy Cork, a stuntwoman who he's worked with in the past. The two have been together for several years now, although they did break up briefly in 2018.

Before that, Cavill posted a tribute on Instagram to his beau. Let's hope those feelings still stand, and the two of them will have a long and happy relationship. The good news? She's much more age-appropriate than many of the women Cavill's been linked to.
