"Spider-Man: No Way Home" is a major fan favorite, and it hasn't even been released yet. This next Spider-Man movie is set to come out in December, and as far as Tom Holland knows, it just might be the last one for a while.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Holland tells us how they treated this movie like it was the end of the franchise and explains how it represents the final leg of the Homecoming trilogy.

Holland is well known and loved for his antics when it comes to spoilers, however, Holland's reviews don't necessarily say that his role as Peter Parker has ended.

Nevertheless, it does show an indication that preparations for solo Spider-Man movies will be halted for the time being, much to the dismay of Marvel fans around the world.

Is This Goodbye To Our Friendly Neighborhood Holland?

In his Entertainment Weekly interview, Holland called "Spider-Man: No Way Home" a conclusion to the Homecoming series.

In a statement, he said, "I think if we were lucky enough to dive into these characters again, you'd be seeing a very different version. It would no longer be the homecoming trilogy. We would give it some time and try to build something different and tonally change the films. Whether that happens or not, I don't know. But we were definitely treating [No Way Home] like it was coming to an end, and it felt like it."

In terms of more Spider Man roles and appearances in Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is every indication that Holland could guest-star in the other productions, especially "Avengers 5" or whatever movie that brings the whole team together.

Holland also spoke about his feelings during the final days of filming with the cast. He recounted when he was shooting a scene with Zendaya Coleman and Jacob Batalon and how emotional the three actors found themselves once they wrapped up filming.

Holland's MCU Journey As Spider Man

Holland first appeared as Spider Man in MCU in "Captain America: Civil War," where he fought alongside the team championed by Tony Stark aka Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr.

His next MCU movie, "Spider-Man: Homecoming," was his first standalone film. It came to the theaters in July 2017, and it is safe to say that the movie was a huge success. His performance landed him a column in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest star to play a title role in the MCU.

He also co-starred in "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame" which were released in 2018 and 2019 respectively. These movies took fans for one heck of a ride from Spider-Man calling out to Stark while fading away, after Thanos snapped his fingers, to his reappearance in "Avengers: Endgame."

His next standalone movie was the sequel "Spider-Man: Far From Home," released towards the end of 2019. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is his third standalone MCU movie, the sixth he has co-starred in and quite possibly his last movie as Spider-Man in MCU.

What To Know Know About 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'

The first thing we know about this movie is that it will be a multiverse film. Also, being the third part of the Homecoming trilogy, it is a no-brainer that this movie would start where the previous one ended.

Sony released the film's official synopsis after its first trailer came out.

According to the synopsis, after having his identity as Spider-Man exposed, our neighborhood web-slinging man is ill-prepared to take on his daily life alongside his role as a superhero.

In a fit of frustration, Peter turns to Doctor Strange for help and only succeeds in mucking up Strange's spell and worsening the entire situation even further.

The synopsis ends with an intriguing promise that this young hero will finally realize the true meaning of being Spider Man in this journey. As confirmed by Sony, this movie's cast includes Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, and Marisa Tomei.

Holland Recounts His Last Days Filming

In his Entertainment Weekly interview, Holland spoke about how emotional he and his co-stars, Zendaya and Batalon got during one of the last days of filming.

"We've been making these films for five years now," said Holland. "We've had such an amazing relationship, the three of us. We've been with each other every step of the way. We've done every single film, every single press tour," he explained.

Balaton and Zendaya appear as Peter's best friend and an aloof classmate in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and have been with the franchise since.

The new Spider-Man movie will come to theaters on December 17, and while we cannot wait to see this awesome piece, we are equally saddened about the possibility of the dissolution of this amazing trio.
