David Eason and Jenelle Evans have been embroiled in a bitter breakup ever since the "Teen Mom 2" alum announced on Halloween that she was leaving her husband. So fans were shocked by a photo Eason shared on Instagram on Sunday.

In the pic, Eason is standing in front of a monument in Washington, D.C. wearing a "f-ck socialism shirt," a gold chain, his camo hat, and ... his wedding ring? Fans quickly jumped on Eason in the comments.

"Love taking trips to D.C.! Can't wait to go back, ride some scooters to the bar," Eason captioned the photo.

"Why u wearing your wedding ring?" one fan asked.

"Still wearing a wedding ring????" another said.

Finally, Eason jumped into the comments and replied, "Old picture."

His fans were quick to flock to his defense.

"how do you know this is a recent picture.... think about DC in January wearing a shirt sleeve shirt.... now that makes perfect sense huh! Why are you focused on the small things?" one wrote.

"To all you cray crays mentioning him wearing his wedding band, did it ever occur to you that this is a old picture?" another said. "Since you want to focus on the details of the picture.... have you ever been to DC in January, i can promise you the trees are NOT full of green leaves, the grass is NOT lush and green and you probably won't be walking around in a short sleeve t-shirt without a coat."

Other commenters were happy to see Eason doing well. "Lovin all the happy posts from u!!! Keep smiling David!" one wrote.

"Great picture @easondavid88 I hope 2020 is a great year for you. Sending love and blessings to you from Rhode Island!" someone else replied.

Evans announced her separation from Eason on social media in October. "With time away from Teen Mom, I've started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I'm starting that now," she wrote at the time.

"The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that's what is best for me, and for my kids," she continued. "Today I've filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids are doing great. We need some time to be together, but you'll hear from us again soon."
