“What’s interesting about it is that I’ve found through neuropsych research and my relationship with my doctors that fibromyalgia can be treated through mental health therapy,” Gaga told Oprah. “And mental health is a medical condition, it should be treated as a medical condition. It should not be ignored.”

Lady Gaga then revealed a shocking secret from her past. She explained that she was raped repeatedly by someone she knew growing up and how that lead to developing a mental illness.

“I was raped repeatedly when I was 19 years old, and I also developed PTSD as a result of being raped and also not processing that trauma,” she told Oprah.

Lady Gaga explains that the rapes occurred right around the time she became famous. With her quick and sudden rise to fame, she didn't have the time to go to therapy and receive proper treatment for her illness. She expresses that mental health should be discussed openly with children in schools.

“I all of a sudden became a star and was traveling the world going from hotel room to garage to limo to stage, and I never dealt with it, and then all of a sudden I started to experience this incredible intense pain throughout my entire body that mimicked the illness I felt after I was raped,” she told Oprah.

Since then Lady Gaga has worked on her mental health issues and continues to make that a priority in her life.

As far as the rumored relationship with Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga quickly shut that down. “We did a really good job of fooling everyone. We created that,” she explained.

"It wouldn’t have worked if you didn’t believe they weren’t in love,” Oprah chimed in.

Lady Gaga also revealed that fans can expect her sixth studio album sometime in the near future. “We’re having a self-care conversation but I’m still going to make music, don’t worry,” Gaga said comforting dedicated Little Monsters everywhere.
