Ed Sheeran stunned Coldplay fans by performing "Fix You" and "Shape of You" at the album release party for Music of the Spheres.
Coldplay's new album is set to be published on October 17th, while Sheeran's = (read "Equals") is set to be released on October 29th.

Sheeran made his grand appearance midway through Coldplay's 2005 X&Y album's "Fix You," strolling on stage to the microphone that was already waiting for him. Sheeran took up the second half of the first verse, playing his acoustic guitar before Coldplay's Chris Martin teamed him on the chorus.
The ensemble brought the song to a close with the support of the audience before moving on to one of Sheeran's newest singles, "Shivers."
Martin took up an acoustic guitar for this rendition of "Shivers," singing with Sheeran while the band performed behind them. The three-song collaboration came to an end with "Shape of You," one of Sheeran's most popular songs, which featured vocal harmonies from Sheeran, Martin, and the delighted Shepherd's Bush Empire audience.
What's Ed Up to?
Sheeran has shared the stage alongside artists such as the Rolling Stones, John Mayer, Jon Batiste, and many others. This one, though, was special in that it was performed in front of hometown fans for Coldplay and a quasi-hometown crowd for Sheeran, who is from Halifax, just a few hours away.
Ed Sheeran has been keeping busy as he prepares to release his new studio album, and he has recently appeared on The Voice as the season's major mentor.
Sheeran will perform as one of iHeartRadio's 2021 Jingle Ball acts as he prepares for his European tour in 2022. The "Bad Habits" singer will also be collaborating with Elton John on a Christmas tune, with more information to be released soon.
Did You Ask About Coldplay Too?
Elsewhere, Coldplay is riding high on the success of their latest collaboration with BTS, "My Universe," which has soared to the top of the charts.
Coldplay brought out Billie Eilish and FINNEAS for a performance of "Fix You" during their concert at Global Citizen Live. Coldplay will also have a weeklong residency on The Late Show with James Corden from October 18 to 21. On October 15, the band will also be broadcasting an album release party with iHeartRadio.
