Rob Lowe isn’t just a widely successful actors with incredibly good looks. Apparently he’s also devolved reporter skills through his podcast “Literally! With Rob Lowe”. In a recent sit down with Entertainment Tonight, Lowe revealed why he wanted to have a podcast in the first place. Primarily referencing the fact that he knows what type of questions to ask big stars. Those questioning techniques are basically what got Jen Aniston to be so candid about things that happened during the Friends reunion on his show. All of these things that we’re referencing are things that Lowe has said about himself. Although he can come across as pretty self-centered, he might be on to something!
What Went Down With Jen Aniston?
Was what he got Jen Aniston to say really all that great for Lowe to be singing his own praises? Well, that’s a hard call to make. It is true though that Jennifer talked about that bittersweet, to even sour side of the reunion. As she revealed that the experience kind of had a negative effect on the cast. Jen mentioned that after the reunion she and other members of the cast just couldn’t shake that nostalgic feeling. Specifically she said,
“Going back there, it’s nostalgic in a way that’s kind of also a little melancholy ’cause a lot has changed,” Aniston added. “We have all gone down different roads, some easy and some not-so easy, for each of us. It was brutal. And you also can’t turn it off… There are cameras everywhere, and I can’t stop crying.”
Why Lowe Thinks He’s the Perfect Person To Interview Other Celebrities
You have to be pretty self-confident to put yourself in front of an ET reporter and let them know that you do their job better than they ever could. That’s pretty much what Rob Lowe did. As we mentioned before, he may actually be on to something. On specifically why he decided to create the podcast in the first place, he mentioned that he was able to ask questions that regular reporters couldn’t. While adding he had an inside scoop on a lot of the stories. Lowe said,

“This is the reason I wanted to do Literally. Jen Aniston gives a lot of interviews… so do all of the people I talk to, but I feel like there are questions I want to ask them that I don’t think other people are gonna ask them,”
Lowe Got Some On-The-Job Training To Interview Aniston
For Rob, the main reason why Jen Aniston felt so comfortable around him kind of breaking down and sharing her story from the Friends reunion, was the fact that he had been in that situation in the past. Having experienced what it’s like to go to a reunion of your hit show years after the big success. Lowe detailed his experience and how it related to Aniston’s saying,
“I had done a reunion. I had done a Parks and Rec reunion, I had done a West Wing reunion, so when I talked to Jen about her Friends reunion, just the fact that it was something both of us have done I think enabled her to open up and talk about the reunion, which she had a lot, in a way that she never had before, that was how melancholy it was for her,”
What’s Next For His Podcast?
These days it seems that everyone has a podcast or some type of show that they want to do. It can certainly get hard to stand out. For Rob Lowe just being who he is got him a comfortable listeners base from the very begging. There’s no denying though that instances like the Jennifer Aniston interview have put his podcast on the map. Lowe was literally asked where he wants to go from here, who he may want to interview next. He revealed that he had a couple of names on his list. Including Lorne Michaels, who created Saturday Night Live, Bruce Springsteen, and Ron Howard. We’ll have to see if his questioning techniques work on them!
