Which Roy Child Will Logan Decimate In 'Succession' Season 3? We're Looking At You Roman

The finale of season 2 of “Succession” was shocking for lack of a better word. If you watch the show you know that Logan’s second son, Kendall delivered the ultimate betrayal when he didn’t go down as the patsy in the Waystar Royco's cruise drama. To be exact, Kendall’s word were. “This is the day his reign ends.” He went on to deliver a speech that was not written on those note cards. "The truth is that my father is a malignant presence, a bully, and a liar, and he was fully personally aware of these events for many years, I have with me today copies of records that show his personal sign-offs." Our jaws dropped as the “Succession” score and end credits rolled up the screen.

Season two also brought us the rise of Shiv Roy. She left (or got fired) from her job in politics (that is still up for debate). Logan began “grooming” her to take over the company that will have to be pried from his dead hands. Shiv, unlike her siblings, tried so hard to make her time at Waystar Royco work this could be because she was out of a job and like her father, she enjoys power. To be honest, at this point, Shiv running the company might be the best scenario until Kendall and Roman get their lives all the way together.

Regardless, watching this one-percenter family is quite entertaining. In season three, we can only assume that Roman Roy is next up to bat. Kendall will most likely be on the outs with Logan holding the murder of the young boy over his head. Shiv has lost whatever small amount of trust she gained for her father when he reneged on the promise to make her head of the company. Connor will never be an option (and probably doesn’t want to be). Roman is the only option and seeing as he has aligned himself with Gerri we can only assume that he will be making power moves in season three. Kieran Culkin who plays Roman said recently in an interview that he is all the way in and “onboard” with season three.

Kiernan who refers to his character as everyone’s favorite “dirtbag” thinks he is next in line. Well if you look in the first season, [it seemed] that Kendall was going to be his guy, and then he wasn’t. Then this year, it seems like Shiv is going to be the guy and now it’s starting to look like she’s not.’ And this is before I knew where it was going. I said, ‘So, maybe next year is Roman’s turn.’” Logan has called Roman everything from likable to an idiot and his time during season two was pretty much a mess. Not only was he forced to be co-COO with undeserving Kendall but he was also kind of taken hostage in Turkey. Plus, he had to go through management training (yes, the same training that Shiv refused to do).

Kiernan hasn’t commented on what we can expect from Roman when the show premieres in summer 2020 (we assume from past premieres). But he too seems to be holding out hope that he will be the next Roy child to tackle the family business. It would be interesting to see who he aligns himself with. Knowing that Roman is a bit of a bad boy and a pretentious jerk we know that him coming to the forefront will surely bring the drama that we poor folk love to watch the one percenter go through.
