Ivanka Trump Speaks Out After Vicious Hanukkah Attack at Rabbi's Home

By Gary Trock

Ivanka Trump is addressing the brutal attack that took place at a Rabbi's home in New York as Hanukkah festivities were underway, and the First Daughter is calling the actions "an act of pure evil."

Ivanka was speaking out about the attack that occurred Thursday night in Monsey, NY at the home of Rabbi Chaim L. Rottenberg. As the rabbi and his congregation were celebrating the 7th night of Hanukkah, a man entered the home with a knife and brutally stabbed 5 people.

The attack occurred around 10 PM and the injured victims were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Governor Andrew Cuomo arrived at the rabbi's home and held a press conference, calling the incident an act of "domestic terrorism."

The suspect, 37-year-old Grafton Thomas was arrested two hours after the attack. He was arraigned on Sunday and charged with five counts of attempted murder and one count of burglary, NBC New York reports. He pleaded not guilty and bail was set at $5 million.

Ivanka, who attended the Hanukkah reception at the White House earlier in the month, did not hold back her anger while discussing the attack in Monsey.

"The vicious attack of a rabbi in Monsey, NY last night was an act of pure evil," Ivanka wrote on her Instagram Stories.

She continued, "As we pray for the victims, may the candles of Chanukah burn bright through this darkness."

Ivanka also addressed the rise in antisemitism in the country and implied that the government may not be doing enough to correct the problems.

"Attacks on Jewish New Yorkers were reported almost every single day this past week."

"The increasing frequency of anti-Semitic violence in New York )and around the country) receives far too little local governmental action and national press attention," she added.

As a Jewish woman herself, and a mother to Jewish children, Ivanka clearly feels that the recent rise in attacks on Jews hits close to home.

On Sunday afternoon, her father, President Donald Trump, also addressed the attack.

"The anti-Semitic attack in Monsey, New York, on the 7th night of Hanukkah last night is horrific. We must all come together to fight, confront, and eradicate the evil scourge of anti-Semitism. Melania and I wish the victims a quick and full recovery."
